Hello out there!

I just found the Dog of the Day site, this is great! I enjoyed looking at some of the past pictures and reading much of the information that you are all sharing. I'm a relatively new dog buddy, Sue is my first dog since I was a kid, and I have been looking all over the net for information and advice. Feel free to visit Sue's website below and say Hi!

Hi Steak!

I also thought Sue was SO beautiful and your kitchen is gorgous http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif I guess we shouldn't be talking about kitchens on pet talk, but I wanted you to know that yours looks like a show room! Very artistic http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

P.S. Just curious...how did you come up with the name Sue? Is it short for something? Or did he have that name at the shelter?

Well thank you all,

Your compliments about Sue, and the kitchen, are very kind. What a nice group of people!

With respect to the name Sue, it comes from the Johnny Cash song (written by Shel Silverstein) entitled "Boy Named Sue". I'm a long time JC fan and I've always liked this song. It just seemed appropriate http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif There is a link on Sue's website to a real audio file of the song if you want to hear it.

FYI Sue's pre-rescue name was reported as Zeus, we figured that it was so close to Sue that there would be little confusion. Prior to our adoption of Sue we were working on the Johnny Cash naming angle. Here were some of our ideas:

"Cash", "The Man in Black", "Porter", "Folsom", "Delia", and of course for expressing our displeasure to any of the above "Dirty Old Egg Suckin' Dog" http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif Maybe for the next dog...

Thanks again,

Steve

Steak - Love the website! Thought I was gonna die when I read about the neuticals. My border collie has been saving his allowance to buy his, but so far, he's a little short.
