I got home today and heard a message from my brother, and he really sounded terrible. he just sounded so bad. some of you might remember a few months I posted that he is having liver problems... well the dr is ****** around, anyway I am just so worried, so any prayers would really be appreciated! he might need a transplant so I don't know what the dr is waiting for. this is very upsetting to hear him like that.
oh God I hate to see my big brother so sick!

Fingers and paws are crossed that your brother will get better.

Some doctors do tend to wait too long before they act. I went a month or so with a broken collar bone, and finally made the doctor perform surgery to fix it. I was told later the bone would have never mended on its own.

Do you have a second opinion about the transplant? a second opinion is a good option to see if your doctor is doing the correct treatment. Another doctor may determine that your brother would be helped in other ways or atleast quicker.

Oh my. :( I'm so sorry to hear that. :( To see any family member or loved one suffering is a terrible thing to go through. I'm sorry your brother is not well. :( Be strong and patient and hopefully he'll get all well in not time. I hope he gets on the road to recovery, quickly, and with ease. Good luck to your brother, you, and your family.

Oh boy, that's terrible :(
Just be strong (like an amazon), and there for your brother. You're both in my thoughts. I hope you're able to find a much better doctor who you can trust and everything, and that he gets better very soon.
Feel better.

I know I'd probably feel the same way if it were my little brother. I hope he can get these problems resolved. I'll be keeping him in my prayers.

Let him go to another doctor for a second opinion. Sometimes (sadly, very often), it happens that the first doctor is just doing the wrong treatment.
I went to a gynaecologist once and she told me that "I will never have kids and we women always wait until the next minute and we do awful things to our bodies and then go to the doctor and want to give them money and expect miracles". These were her exact words and I left her office crying, after I agreed to come for some surgery. When I calmed down, I decided I want a sane doctor. I went to another one - TO A FREE CLINIC (we have plenty of these, actually, we pay a very small amount). The other doctor gave me some pills and told me that I went to a NUT CASE the first time. It really was a piece of cake.

I hope your brother gets well and I hope there is a treatment for his problem.

My family has a very long history of medical problems and I can't stress enough about the importance of getting a second opinion. If you don't like a certain doctor or prognosis, get a second or third opinion until you are satisfied.

Also try to research the medical condition yourself so you know which alternatives are available and what questios to ask! Positive vibes being sent!

Mary, I too agree, a second opinion is needed here. There is no reason for your brother to have to suffer this way.

Unfortunately our Doctors are human too - and have failings......and don't always give the correct advice.

I send you all of my prayers in hopes your brother will be okay. Abby gives you many kissies and the kitties give you many head-bumpies... Everything will be fine, don't worry!

Mary, I'll be thinking of your brother. I agree that a second opinion might be in order, maybe another specialist can provide different options for treatment. Sending positive thoughts your way.

Prayers and positive thoughts for you Mary and for your brother. And I would have to agree that a 2nd opinon would probably be a good idea. I'm so sorry, but please don't give up hope. I'll be thinking of you both and praying for the best. {{{hugs}}} Sandra

By all means, get a second opinion, or even a third. Doctors aren't infallable. Also, in this day of cost cutting and HMO's, I think any sick person needs an advocate who will hound the medical community until they get noticed.

Prayer's and good thoughts on the way.
