Last Sunday my dad and I went to look at a dog that was in the newspaper. It was an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix. I believe it was a purebred Border Collie. They were giving it away because it ran and drove the cattle too much. My grandpa could of used a good working dog like that. But my dad said we need to sleep on it. I din't think he's going to take me back to get that dog.

Hi.. BC's are my favorite dog but the reason I don't have one is because I don't have the facilities for it to run or herd. They are great at dog agility if you have the time to train it. A woman in my neighborhood has one and said she was sorry for the dog, as she doesn't give it the time it deserves and needs...so maybe that's why your dad doesn't want to get your hopes up..but I'm rooting for you anyway because as much as I worship my dog, I just love BC's the best. good luck!
Keep us informed.......K

It's always best to step away from the dog for a little while to think about it. It's so easy to say yes while petting the dog, but if you go home and think about how much time and energy is needed, then you will really know if your ready for the new addition to your life. I am rooting for you too as I just got my little Husky puppy. I have wanted one since I was young and now that I'm out of college and am getting settled into life I now have the time to dedicate to him. It's not fair to any animal to not have the room and attention they need. So if you feel you have the space for the dog and are willing to commit to spending many hours with your new compainion, then go for it.

and thats my two cents. http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif
