As I said before, Easter in Moldova is different than in the rest of the world, sometimes one week earlier, sometimes six weeks earlier, sometimes is the same Sunday. This year, Easter in Moldova was on April 27.
I visited my parents and took some pictures.

This is a sweet traditional Easter bread - Pasca or Cozonac

Well, she's Juni's granny and her name is Pantera, or Panterusha. She has a litter of kittens, but no matter how much I begged, she didn't show me where they are :(

Awww Panterusha is so cute;-) Very young looking for a granny.
Thanks for the Easter pictures. I know Greek Easter and they have the red eggs too.
Here the cherries are in bloom but it is to cool for apricots.

I don't know very much about the tradition of red eggs. I think Barbara explained it once in another Easter thread. It's some pagan tradition, it's more about rebirth. Well, easter is also about Resurection.
The color is really special this year.
And that Pasca is so good, mmmmm.

Glad you liked the pictures.

btw, Panterusha is 10 years old

I was hoping to learn how they were dyed such a beautiful shade of red! Ours never turn that dark when we dye them, of course, we're using store bought Easter Egg dye most of the time.

Logan, this WAS store purchased color. My father bought some pinkish and it didn't come out well. Then, my mom came with her own and you can see what came out. It's my favorite shade of red. And with a golden tint.

My mom has her own philosophy of how to convince men when they are wrong. Prove it with facts, like she did this time. She used my poppa's color first, then she brought hers, about which my poppa didn't even know. He had to agree that my mom's color was the best.

What a beautiful picture of Panterusha. That Pasca looks good too. My mother is from Poland so we have that Pasca too, very tasty with the saffron.
