The shop called tonight, apparently it's going to cost $1500 to get the car fixed. Most of it's going to be getting the glass out of it.

Anyhoo my dad's friend took some pics, here's what my poor Syd looks like.

Unfortunatley we didn't get glass insurance on the car...wish now that we did. My aunt said taht she would pay for the damages however because it wasn't my fault that all that happened.

What a great aunt you have!!!!!
It looks bad, but she'll be back to you good as new soon.
I didn't know there was separate insurance for the glass on the car:confused:

I don't know the insurance coverage in Canada, so, take this with a grain of salt...but, the damage to your car, while to the glass, isn't the result of what would be typically excluded under a glass loss-if you didn't have the coverage.

That would be the same as saying if you got in an accident, and the glass was broken, that they wouldn't pay for the damage to the glass, but would pay for the damage to the car itself.

If you had 'full' coverage, it seems like it would be covered under theft/ vandalism....or what is sometimes called OTC, 'other than collision'. So, I think my advise would be to push the company a little bit...make sure that the claims rep understands that your car was vandalized. If you had limited coverage- liability only, then, it wouldn't be covered....

I hope you get Syd back soon! What a terrible thing to happen. BTW, listen to Cataholic. She KNOWS what she's talking about.

I agree with Johanna, I was puzzled when you said it isn't covered. (I work for State Farm Insurance)

What happened??

Oh no! I hope karma catches up with the deadbeats who did that to your car. Fingers crossed that the insurance company comes to the party :)

Well if I had normal insurance then yeah it would be covered, but unfortunately we only got liablity on it. Even my aunt (the one who's paying to get the car fixed) said that it isn't covered by my insurance and she worked in the insurance business for over twenty years.

It's sort of fun driving the suburban though.
