Congratulations on your dog-to-be and welcome to Pet Talk! We have quite a few Golden Retriever families here who will be glad to give you some information. I know Albea and Logan both have beautiful Goldens. Enjoy Mitch and show us some pictures!

Daisy's mom is right, Logan and I are devoted Golden Retriever fans. You could not have made a better choice of a friend!!!
If you go to www.ygrr.org (http://www.ygrr.org) you'll find piles of information and links to other Golden sites.
It is the Web page for Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue and I do volunteer work for them. Eventually you may want to become a member and get "Golden Times," the quarterly magazine.
Can't wait to see pictures of Mitch.
Give him a big hug from me the minute you get him. :D :D :D

Did you ever get Mitch? I hope your husband didn't change his mind I'm sure that even if he is not a"dog person," he will become one when he shares his life with a Golden for even a short time. Nobody can resist their smiles. ;) ;) ;)

I'm a little late responding, but YEAH!!!! I'm thrilled that you might be able to add a wonderful Golden Retriever to your family. Puppies are great, but they do grow up. I hope you will consider contacting a rescue group like YGRR as Alicia (Albea) suggested. My next one will be a rescue for sure!

In addition to the YGRR site, which will give you links to Golden Retriever Rescue Organizations all over the country, you might look at the following links as well. If your husband wasn't sure before, he might be if he looks and reads on these! Good luck. I could not have asked for better companions than I have in Honey and Lilly.

And last, but not least, if you would like to see pictures of my girls, plus some great pictures of other Goldens, please feel free to visit my webshots album at http://community.webshots.com/user/lgivens4

Good luck! Can't wait to hear about your new addition. Why not get two at one time? LOL!!! Mine are five months apart in age!
