We have a very close family friend with two rotties, Bruno and Sidney. Sidney is rather old now, and she has had leg and hip problems her whole life. she cant go up and down the stairs still.

Now its bruno's turn.:( He is 1 1/2 years old, and just started having hip problems. all the sudden he started losing tons of weight.
my friends couldnt bring him to the vet on the day he was suposed to go, because of personal reasons, so we brought him for them.

all the vet had to say was bad news.

Bruno will be needing a big opperation to get his hips fixed. :( he is extremely underweight, and needs to eat like crazy to gain it all back on. and to top it all off, the vet said that he has cancer! yes, cancer. im very scared for him.
he is so young and such a sweetie, Im praying all i can. Luckily, my friends are quite wealthy, (not rich, but pretty wealthy) , so they can afford all his treatment, opperation, ect.

Please pray for bruno, he really needs your prayers.:(

I'm so sorry that Bruno has to have his leg removed. But the alternative would be to have the cancer spread and eventually kill him.

I have a dog who had to have his rear leg removed. He gets around just as well as he did with four legs. He was in a lot of pain before. Now he is the fastest of my four dogs and a real silly character. I think he's grateful that he's not hurting anymore.

The vets now have anesthesia that they can reverse if the dog has a problem while under. It costs a little more, but might be a good idea if there's any reason to be concerned.

One of the 'rag' magazines (Enquirer, Globe, Star) had an article about a dog with NO front legs; he uses a cart especially made for him. He seems to be happy.

I will be praying for Bruno.

this is such a very sad situation, i do wish both doggies a speedy recovery, take heart, if they have got rid of the cancer, bruno will be fine i am sure, i have seen many dogs and even a cat survive many long years with 3 legs, and they can sprint really fast too considering.
I know its been a tough time with lots of bad news, but hopefully with all the pet talk prayers they will sail through, heres hoping, hugs and postive thoughts to you.

I'm sooo sorry I missed this thread. Please know my prayers are on the way for a speed recovery. Also sending an extra prayer that the cancer does not return.

I've known many 3-legged doggies in my time and they seem to get around just fine. Good luck.
