What is a kitty window box ? (Where you grow kitties !!)

From the outside it looks like an air conditioner and fits in the window just like one. I got it online for $50. They love it! Especially my oldest tortie, Mollie Rose. It's paid for itself.

Donna,

Do you realise you have just admitted to everyone on PT that you PEEL grapes for your cat?? LOL

I suppose we all go a bit overboard - like not moving for an hour when I am DYING for the loo, but Ally is sleeping on my lap and I don't want to disturb her!!! (I can just see myself going to the doc and explaining how I got cystitis!!!!!!)

Great photos by the way - I LOVE the window box - I never knew they made anything like that! Twice a year the maintenance guys here take all our "box" / "window" Air cons away for a service and re-gass. and all that is left is an empty "cage" sticking out the side of the house - Ally is in HEAVEN - she dashes from one to the other checking out all the things she cant normally see!

Ally Cat's Mom,

Guilty as charged!

They all take turns in the window box. I wish I could put it in my front window where there is more action. But the windows are a little bit bigger than the one I have it in now. I'd die if it slipped and fell 3 stories with one of my cats in it.

KAK,

That is another trait of Casey's (RB, 2002). I SWEAR it's actually Casey in another cat's body.

Great pics Donna!
Filou who is the specialist for human food around here (avocados, mangos:rolleyes: ) never had grapes. Maybe because they were not peeled. I will try it next time:D

Great pictures!!

And I'd love to know more about the window seat for the cats. I have seen them advertized, but was afraid of how sturdy they would be in the window. I feared, what if too many tried to pour into the box at once and they went over the weight limit? And, is i t REALLY steady in the window frame? (not wobly or anything)

Jen,

The "catio" is sturdy and is held in by the window. I've had as many as 2 cats in it and have never had a problem. It stays in the window the same way a small air conditioner does. I put a small block of wood underneath it on the outside of the window on the ledge. I bought it online from Petco or PetSmart, I can't remember. I've had it for quite sometime now. It's WELL worth the money, IMO. The best place to put it is in a window that has alot of action (traffic, birds, people, etc.) It comes with a removable plexiglass panel to keep out rain and stuff. There is one panel in there with small openings for air flow. I went out and bought a piece of screen to put over the panel to prevent mosquitoes and flies coming into the house. I applied it with strips of velcro.

Miss Meow,

Both red and green!

Barbara,

Start peeling :D!!
