Can't tell. I'm no lab expert!!! He looks pure to me, though. Thoughts?

is this a new dog in your family? He looks very cute to me, thats all that counts? did you get him from a breeder? or froma shelter?
Did you get papers for him *if he was from a breeder?* if so then you shouldent worrie.

No, he is a rescue. I am the Adoption Coordinator the Animal Rescue Foundation. He is one that was found by a concerned citizen, dodging cars. He called us, so we are helping him place the cutie.

Thanks!

His ears look a little long, like he may have some hound in him, but it's not the pedigree that counts when adopting a dog, it's whether he would make a loyal, devoted companion, and whatever breed or mix he is, he is very attractive.

Looks to if he has some white on his chest, I think he's a mix.

PB Labs can have a patch of white fur on their chests.

From http://www.akc.org/breeds/recbreeds/labdoret.cfm

Color

The Labrador Retriever coat colors are black, yellow and chocolate. Any other color or a combination of colors is a disqualification. A small white spot on the chest is permissible, but not desirable.

Who knows!! Wish he could talk! :)

Thanks

Bless his heart, TopSpot! I know it helps to know what to say on those postings when you are putting them up for adoption. He certainly looks like "mostly" a Lab!! Too cute!!! :)

Hope he finds the perfect home, and thank goodness you have him safely out of harm's way!!!

Logan

Thanks Logan. Lord knows we see our share of lab mixes, and when I saw this guy, I thought he looked darn close!! I think he will place quickly, especially bc he's young too!!

What a sweetie he is!

Thanks,

I noticed the ears right away and thought there might be some Hound in there. Its hard to tell from the pic though.

Either way, what a cutie :)

Inoticed the houndish-ears too. He looks exactly the same as Timber's puppyhood friend, Judge. He was a rotti lab cross, and he was all ears and paws!

Yes, labs can get white. I've seen many purebred labs with white chests, paws, and sometimes stockings! It's because they carry a gene, much like the one that causes black blotches in golden retrievers :)

I don't know why but his ears look like Great Dane ears :D

He sure looks like he could be pure blood, but I didn't know about the white spot either. I've never seen a pure breed lab with a white spot, but there is a 1st for everything! He sure is a gorgeous boy! Good luck with findind a forever home for him!:D

Top Spot....I just noticed my pure breed black lab has a slight white spot on her chest right where the one in the pic has it. It's a pinchfull of a few white hairs. So it is possible. She also looked like she had big long ears when she was a pup too. But again you never know.
