Kito will wear one, Riley will wear one, and Abbey, well, she tries to rip them off. Anyway, our Petco only has flowered ones and patriotic ones, and I just want some cute ones!!!
I would really like a red one for Riley, and I haven't figured out yet what color to put on Kito (he wore a green one for Christmas).
Where does everyone get theirs???

I have some from doggie events, from Petsmart, and from a lady that makes them at a flea market. I will have to say that Cisco doesn't really like them. I mean he will wear it for a pic, but that is about it.

For most of Ruby's bandannas we go to a fabric store and buy some cute fabric. Then we just take it home, cut it to size, and hem the edges. :) It's pretty easy. She has a couple other bandannas that we didn't make... One we got at a fundraiser for a new dog park, and a couple we bought at a dollar store.

Lady has gone from green to orange to blue to red bandanas. We get them from the place where we wash Lady, Laundro-Pet. Her red one that she wears now did not come from there though, I got it from a hair store. It's supposed to be a hair bandana, but I think Lady looks better in it than I.
I'm guessing some pet stores may have them...but I'm not sure.

That's what I do for Kia. Only made one bandanna so far though. :o

I'd like to find a few patriotic ones for our girls so that if they will wear them they can show their support for their daddy who's on his way over to the war!

My dogs are naked without one. They both wear one all the time. We have all sorts of diff ones... mostly patriotic though.:D The both look best in red.

I make my own also. I get some fabric at Walmart or the fabric store and cut them to size with a pair of Pinking Shears. No hemming needed!
For Abbey, you might be able to get/make a neck ruffle. You just take material wide enough for her collar and fold it over and sew it then turn it inside out and slide her collar in it.

I hit Petsmart about 2 times a week and sometimes they'll have really cute bandanas on sale. There are also cute ones during the holiday times. They don't always have cute ones, you just have to be lucky to catch them. Since I go to Petsmart so much, I have quite a large collection of bandanas. :D

I have a pretty large collection of bandanas. :D I have to thank Jackie and her For the Love of Dogs community for quite a few of them...I won a set of bandanas, I think there's a christmas one, halloween, st. patricks day, easter and 4th of july. I love them! :) I believe you can buy the set at Petsmart...they close with velcro...mine is size medium. I also have a blue and red Petco bandana with pawprints, and a couple with wolves on them. There's probably more too lol.

I also make my own bandanas.......there's some cute full square bandanas that I cut in half and then put a name on them.....Nebo has a blue one, Lady has a red one. I also made red ones for Rachel's Anna and Rosie, and a blue one for KayAnn's Simba...red one for her Nala...they have yellow colored ones with bones too.

If anyone wants a bandana with their dog's name on it let me know......we may be selling the sewing machine soon, so if you want one ask now hehe. It's nothing fancy...here's a pic where you can see Nebo's...

I also forgot to say that Hobby Lobby if you have one around is supposed to have a HUGE selection of bandanas.
I bought one at the PetStore for Keegan last fall with pumpkins on it, it cost me more than all of the ones I have together and after I washed it I was getting ready to put it on her before we left and when I came outta the bathroom she had eaten it!!!!
SOOOOOOO I make my own!!

We have quite a good collection of them (they get them when they go to the groomers). They all pretty much have matching ones, except the valentines one, Roxey & Huney were playing & tore Huney's off and shredded it:rolleyes:

They're all so great!!!
I checked the dollar store--they didn't have anything.
I'm going to walmart today, maybe I will get brave and buy some fabric and make my own--I have no sewing abilities whatsoever:rolleyes:

Thanks for the site LabloverKEB--I hadn't seen that one before--I'm going to order one of the harley ones for my friend's GSD--she loves harleys (not the dog, my friend and her boyfriend)

I want to get Mickey one so bad but they don't have any around here. The dollar store has the ones that are thick all around so when you wear it it looks all screwed up because you have to fold it over like this:
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid59/pf0b80d3ed57b4400e53e7b9dcde02cb9/fc5b0667.jpg

Mickey also has fun trying to rip it off but he's gotten better with one on. I try not to make him wear it to often because the breeder said it might break the fur on his mane and we want that nice and pouffy ;) I tried looking at "Mondou" (our Petsmart) but they have all these girl girly ones or really ugly ones for boys, like checkers and polka-dots :p I'll keep looking though.

I have 3. One is white and was actually mine in the beginning. Another one is pink that says "Eukanuba" from a superdogs show. and the 3rd one I made...it's quite ugly...I made it out of my jeans because I have to cut off quite a bit and hem them...(shortness sucks). I didn't bother sewing them though, I was feeling rather lazy that day.

Shortness sucks - ha! Tell me about it :p I used the bottom of my jeans once to make a bandanna too. :) Maybe I'll make one for Mickey...

They have about a million!! I buy one and cut it in half or fourths depending on the size of it.

Millie LOVES hers, but not Chester! He rips it off ASAP and it's like trying to put a bandana on a greased pig!

I attempted and succeeded in making one of the collar wraps for Keegan. After a trial run I made 2 more.
Just take the width of the dog collar and double it with about 1/4-1/2 inch extra. Then all but maybe 3-4 inches of the legnth. Fold it inside out, placing a couple pins in it, sew along the edge, one straight stitch, securing the ends. Then fold it right side out and slip it over the collar.
And let me stress that I don't sew!!!!! ;)

GREAT IDEA!

I am going to have to try that! I don't know if Spike would even wear a bandana but I know Max hates them but maybe he wouldn't mind the cover over his collar!

Thanks so much for the wonderful ideas!

I buy material from a store and make my own bandanas for my puppies...usually. They are all usually good with them...leaving them on and stuff. Occassionally they will play around and one gets torn or something. But that's about it.

I just made bandannas forthe dogs for the first time last week. I took some pictures, and hope to finish the roll soon....

Well, I just used my new sewing machine tonight. Guess what's the first thing I made? You got it....doggie bandannas!
I made these expecially for the Memorial Day meeting at the park:)

But you'll have to wait to see them modeling their new bandanas till the 25th:p
With the extra material I had, I took Staci's advice & made a couple of collar wraps for the girls.
Here's Roxey with hers (cool idea, thanks Staci!)

I have a couple for Smudge and Winter from the training centre that we go to, we have to wear them at demos. But other then that I think I only have a couple I could get more quite easily however. I would just have to go down to a Lammles (it's a western wear store) and get them from there..I guess that's a benifit of living in cow town.

I've gotten mine at Work World. They r solid one solid colour (red) with little scribbles of black, it doesn't really make a pic of any sort.

Max loves to wear anything & everything... I've dressed him up in womans clothing, bra, shorts & some hair clip thingys (those were my younger sisters). Hes worn a tux, boxers, socks, army clothing, tank tops, t-shirts, pants, hats, & god knows what else I've put on him...

hmm gonna have fun shopping for material

I just saw this thread! Keegan what a pretty girl and great model!!! Staci, what a good job you are doing. I have to admit I have to give Amy an A+ for making some for her dogs. She doesn't always get into making things. Anna, your bandannas are beautiful too. :) We've never tried bandannas on our dogs but knowing them, they won't like them and will do their best to chew them off - and if they can't get them off, they will probably chew on each others. LOL

You did a great job, and a wonderful job of getting them all to sit for a pic together too (tough job sometimes isn't it;) ). They look great!
