Norton Antivirus...

Does anyone know what to do with a file that has been quarantined that can not be repaired? I have an older version of Norton Antivirus. Do you think an up graded version could make the repairs?

I am far from the expert in this field, but i too had older version of of norton, its upgraded itself just yesterday, and wow got rid of five viruses i never knew i had, one i aware of as my computer would not shut down, but now it does, thats the bugbear one and i had a trojan one, now all repaired so it should do i think, i can ask my husband tonight , he knows all about this stuff, builds and repairs computers in his spare time,
