Did you know April is National Poetry Month?

Here's my contribution for today, (Written earlier today, for a (Virginia-native) friend at work) that I posted in another thread.
*

Even I, goddess of snow
and inclement days
Think perhaps a
major storm
on April 7th
Is just too much!

This means, not, however,
That once it begins,
I will refrain from glee -

I can't help it!
Snow is beauty!
Snow is joy!

And the juxtaposition
of white flakes
On verdant buds of spring
Is achingly lovely
And as fleeting as a sigh.

C'mon folks, poetize!

Hey, I'd love to add some of my "trials" here, but they are all in DUTCH    ! And translating them, is like ripping the soul out of it...:(
Well, if I find a nice poem somewhere, I will post it!!Okay?:D

Here's one i wrote in 6th grade:
Bodie Island
In North Carolina I walked down the street
I went to the beach, the sand hurt my feet.it stuck on my feet and in between my toes, what that sand is made of,nobody knows.
From the top of the Wright brother's memorial I could see
The ocean, the sound and the Dairy Queen
I could see the whole island from there
The sand in my toes and the wind in my hair

I will post more if I can find or think of any.

I am 14, and I wrote a poem and submitted it to a contest. I got to the semi-finals and haven't heard from them yet. I have my poem in a book and its also on the website. I'll see if I can find the site.

Here's the page its on. If it doesn't work, go to www.poetry.com and there is a small search box. You have to put last name and first, so I am going to confide in you all... My name is Megan Holz :) Search if you can't see it from the link.

One lone daffodil
Blossoms warm and golden, though
Snow covers the ground

(True, in our yard!)
