Drake In Kilt

I unpakced my Spring and Summer clothes yesterday and packed up my Winter ones. I was going through them and giving away the items I no longer wore. Among the huge pile of clothes going to Good Will, was a red wrap around summer kilt.

Andrew thought it would be funny to dress Draker up in it and take his picture. Drake's waist is way pigger than mine! He!He!He!

Well, here is my boy as a Scottsdog.

Andrew was hovering over me with a slice of Turkey sandwich meat as I took the picture! It was hilarious! Of course, after he got his reward, he tore the kilt off in seconds!!

In lieu of my old boss, a true Scottsman who has moved back to Edinburg, I will correct you, Aly. Drake is not in drag! Real men wear kilts, and we went by more kilt-rental places than tux rental places driving through that city!

Did you know that's where the expression "the whole 9 yards" come from? Apparently, to make a "proper" kilt, one uses 9 whole yards of tartan. In the family pattern preferably. One of the most complicated cakes I every decorated was the year I decided to make his tartan on his birthday cake. Well, his last name (Sandilands) wasn't in the book of tartans, so I picked another pretty much at random, and went to work. Turns out, I had chosen the tartan from his mother's family, McRae! :) He was tickled pink!
