I don't kennel my dogs. They stay with family or close friends. But I don't go out of town too often anyway.

My dogs came from shelters so I hate to see them in any kind of kennel environment. They absolutely hate it and I can't say I blame them.

My dog has never even been in a kennel befor. She comes with me everywhere, on vacaton or whatever. She always comes with us. If we absolutly couldent bring her somewhere I'd leave her with friends, or better yet, not go.

Mickey's breeder agreed to board him if we ever go on vacation but my grandmother (who loves Mickey) agreed to take him in. We did decide that no vacations for the first year at least but my dad is missing Florida so bad...:rolleyes:I wouldn't want to put Mick in a kennel. The breeder or my grandma is fine. :)

If Cisco can't go I don't go!:)

If I had to I would def. check the place out for cleanliness, talk to my vet for references, talk to clients whom might be at the kennels, cage size, do they get out for walks, how secure are the kennels / area to be walked, ectc....

First, see if a friend or family can help out.:D

I didn't vote because i've never put my dog in a kennel never will. We alwats bring Simba when we go on vacation and if we can't I'm sure we'll have more than one person willing the watch the pups

Who needs kennels, when you've got adult kids!!! And they have dogs they want you to keep when they go away. Neighbors (friends) have come to our rescue too!!

We always have friends or family to watch our pets while were gone. Sometimes the pups get to go:)

cage size, cleanliness, and friendlyness.

Max has only been borded about 4 times in his life, but for only a few hrs up to the weekend... Normally one of my parents will take care of him, or he'll go on the vaccation with us which is 95% of the time. But the past 4 yrs Max has been left home alone & the neighbours daughtor comes over to care for him, she loves him to death. & one reason why she loves him so much is because Max helped her find her lost dog. Max knew who we were looking for cause they use to be firends untill I moved Max to my dads.

When I have to board, 3 of the poodles and the cat stay at the vet that I work for. Riley is never boarded he goes to a friends house due to his show coat. She brushes him for me when I have to be away.
