Tubby & Peanut's Mom

Peanut and Tubby got new micies on Saturday. I had given Peanut hers for a reward for being such a good girl during her bath (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23303), so of course I had to give Tubby his too or he would have taken hers away.

Evidently the rug got in the way. ;)

Then Sunday morning, both mice were mysteriously in the living room (don't know how they got there). Each one was staking out their mouse claim.

Then Peanut decided to play hog and get them both, but there was a stand off first.

Peanut is actually sitting on one of them. You can just barely see the little white tail peeking out from behind her front leg.

Well, neither one of them won, because they both became bored - or Terry walked into the kitchen - whichever came first, and both mice ended up laying in the living room. They didn't move the rest of Sunday and when I threw them around a little last night, there was no interest what-so-ever. Now I remember why I don't buy them toys. I picked both mice up and will give them out again another day and maybe the interest will pick up again.

I find that with Hayley if you put some of her toys away you can take them out a week or two later and the fun starts all over again! Maybe the mice will work that way with Tubby and Peanut.

Ahhhhhh, my kitties do the same thing with their toys! Just like human kids .... they're fun for a few days (or hours...teehee) then it's "what's next"? LOL

Yea, I would just hide them a while then bring them back out one at a time! I think like with human kids, if they have too many to pick from they don't appreciate them as much!!!

I like this photo, it reminded me of the face off at the beginning of a hockey game.:) So which one got the puck er mouse first?;)

http://users.adelphia.net/~mandzsawyer/images/samcutem.jpgHey Peanut, Samantha likes to sit on her mice too.
That way she knows exactly where they are when she wakes up from a nap.;)

Yeah, I know...tell me about it...especially when one of them has a nice juicy...err...throw up. ;)

Trust me, the white carpeting was there before I was, so I had no say in the matter, otherwise it would have never been white. I rather like the runner rug (the blue one with Tubby) because if they throw up on there you can't even tell. Sometimes I step in it  because it's so hard to see on that rug. Whoever invented white carpet in the first place should be condemned to keeping the carpet white in a house full of cats, dogs and kids. He might then think twice about having made the carpet in that color. :p

However.... we do have these huge windows that look due South, so if there was any other color in there, it would have faded out long ago - thus the white carpeting, the white furniture, the white walls.....ok, ok, antique white if you must. ;) And I love the sun streaming in the windows - as does Tubby - so I would rather put up with the whiteness than cover the windows with heavy drapes to keep the sun out. In the spring and fall, I could lay in the sun all day and just soak it up like Tubby does. Especially in the early spring when it's finally starting to get warm. :)

Anyway, so much for going off on a tangent. The micies are now put away. Maybe this weekend I'll bring them out again to see what the reaction is. Thanks for all the nice comments. :)

With the greatest amount of respect, I must ask, "Stand off? Exactly which one of these guys is doing any standing?" he he he...

:D :D

I was going to say "face-off" but as I was typing that just didn't sound right....

And no, Tubby stands as little as necessary. He greets me at the door when I get home from work, then promptly goes to the kitchen and plops himself down and proceeds with the evening's begging. :D

This one's my favorite.:) They're both adorable.

Cute pics :D
Isn't it funny how the little micies can disappear then reappear in another room weeks later? Speckles loves them but Max does not play at all.

My cats love micies. I buy them by the dozen...and they get recycled. Allie seems most interested in the ones with the feathery tails.....We have a group mouse hunt, me, the yard stick, and at least four cats....and we target the fridge, the furnace, the couch, and the shoe closet.

Tanner LOVES his mice and will chase them all over the apartment. So a couple of time a week we also have a "mouse hunt". Of course Tanner MUST help me look under the fridge, stove, couch, dresser, etc. I will admit that is it a little tough to look for mice when all you see is the cat butt in the way :D :D :D

These photos are sooooo funny! Perhaps if you give the micies to one of them...the other will want to play again!

What a giggle......
