I am in so much pain right now but wanted to let you all know I will be heading to the ER shortly for a hurt shoulder. I am not sure exactly what is wrong but I will let you all know when I get back. Wish me luck!:(

Well I am back. I was running a fever (101) when I got there so they took blood and about 6 x rays, which showed I have slight arthritus in my left shoulder. There is nothing they can do about it now unless it gets worse, so I just have to bear the pain. :( They said I also have a strained muscle as well. :( I got some vicadin and that helped a little. I also have to wear a slpint for a week, and they said by then the swelling should go down. So that's it, sucky hah? At least I don't have cancer or anything!!!!:D

I always expect the worse. Thank goodness it was only this. :) Thanks for all your prayers!

Cassandra, I sure hope you'll feel better soon. I know how it is to have a sore shoulder. I get one in my left arm quite frequently because I work with my hands a lot and sit in the same position for a long time at work. The doctor said it's probably osteoarthritis. She recommended that I take alieve or advil for it. My Dad also has this problem. I'm sorry that I've rambled on for so long. Please take care and get well soon. :)

I thought you were pregnant? Apparently I have been reading some of your posts wrong. B/c if you are pregnant you shouldn't have had xrays.
But glad it isn't anything serious.

Not no more and that is all I wish to say about it. Perhaps we will try again in a few years, but for now I am not strong enough to go through it again.

I'm so sorry to hear about your pregnancy gone wrong. I know there's no words that can console someone when this happens, but we're all here if you need to talk ok? *hugs*

Things that happen when we're asleep over here! Sorry your in pain Cass., I really can sympathise after my arm/shoulder injury last year (and still going on now!) do exactly what the doctors say and take the pain killers when you need them. Good luck, fingers crossed over here for you.

after you're over the worst of the pain, check out the mayo clinic website, other health sites and look for some simple stretches for your shoulder/arm/neck. during my last bout with an injured rotator cuff, those really helped. best wishes, joyce

I am sorry, I didn't mean to bring up bad feelings. I am a radiologic technologist, and was concerned when you said that you had xrays. Sorry. Its a job hazard.

You poor thing, that must really hurt a lot. :(

Hope your shoulder mends quickly and you are no longer in pain. I'll be praying for you.

Take care,

Thanks everyone! Last night was just plain terrible for me. I got barely any sleep and I didn't go to bed til 2 am because I was in so much pain. It is STILL bugging me. It's whenever I move it backwards, to get dressed etc. that it feels as if it is going to snap out of place. The aching feeling is gone though, it just is painful when I move it a certain way. It really does not feel like arthritus to me, it feels like it just keeps popping out of place. Hm....well I guess they would know right? They are doctors. :)
