View Full Version : Prayers Please (already posted in Gen)

I already posted this in general, but I really need the prayers.

Thank you.

I have faith that things will be OK and I trust God completely.

But I need prayers please. I had to go to the ER again for my stomach pain last Wednesday and they admitted me. They did a CT scan and think my intestines are inflamed. I was out on Friday and my dr. put me on a food sensitivity diet (something that he was pretty positive would make my pain go away). I've addressed the stress in my life and have been feeling good and happy.

Today...my pain is coming back. I need prayers for everything to be treatable in the least evasive way possible. I will most likely be having a colonoscopy. But, I am prepared for that, I can do it. My concern is for what they find.

Please, please pray for me.

Thank you!

Love, Kelly

Good luck, Kelly, I hope everything goes well for you. Do they have any idea what it could be?

My 13 year old neice has Colitis, and she has been in the hospital for it recently. She misses a lot of school, too. She can still eat almost anything she wants (and like most 13 year olds, she loves McDonalds) but she needs medication to keep herself on track.

That's what my mom suggested to the dr. and he said that all stomach disorders are being lumped together in the "Irritable Bowel Syndrome" category...which is stupid, because its now all I hear whenever I'm in pain.

It doesn't make sense that I'm still in pain after adjusting my diet and getting rid of stress. I've never had this pain before...how can it just be IBS?

I'm sorry for venting, I'm just frustrated.

Thank you for your concern and kindness.

I have no thoughts on what it could be, but I did want to say good luck. I really hope everything goes well. I hope they find something because it's always a relief to know what the problem actually is, but I hope it's nothing too serious and can be taken care of/cured easily.

Thoughts and prayers going out to you, hubby and the rest of your family. :)

Oh Kelly, I'm sorry you're in pain. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to be in pain and the doctors not sure of the cause yet. You'll be in my prayers.

Kelly, I too hope they find a minor problem which can be easily treated. It's nervewrecking not knowing what causes it. Please try your very best to relax and not worry - that will only make it worse. I know it's hard to do, but try!!

I wish you all the best and keeping fingers crossed for you! Good luck!

We're all here for you. :)

I agree, that it's dumb to group all stomach disorders under IBS, simply because there are so many different reasons that can cause them.
I would be inclined to think there is more going on that just IBS. It's too easy for some people to say...OH! It's IBS..then slap you with some medication. If the medication and/or diet that's prescribed for you isn't working, perhaps a second opinion is needed. You shouldn't have to suffer with this for so long! :( Going to a GI specialist might be an option for you before this colonoscopy thing. Did they already rule out cysts or ulcers that could be irritating your bowel/intestines?
Poor you! **hugs** I sure hope something will come through for you soon, because the sooner they figure it out, the sooner it can be treated and the quicker you will be to feeling better! Do let us know what the Doc says. I'll be thinking about ya!
**hugs**

P.S. Marius and Scooter send some healing purrs and headbumpies :D

My doctor said that my stomach was to the side, so he didn't think it was an ulcer. I drank milk last night and tonight...so would that rule out an ulcer?

I will keep you posted...I'm still waiting for my dr. to call back. I'll call again at 3:00... :)

I'm still waiting for him to call me back. But I just spoke with the nurse and she said he isn't ready to do a colonoscopy and that he'll call me soon.

I'm wavering. I don't know what to think...isn't this necessary? Not that I want one...but I would think they'd want to do something.

The only thing that makes this pain go away is the ER, which means shots of morophine or demoral....

Do let us know what your doctor says about that NuLev. I wonder if it would help.
How do your intestines react to milk drinking??!! Who knows, maybe you're like kitties and have a sensitive tummy to milk. Not an allergy, but sensitivity. Did you try going off of dairy products for an extended period of time?
I sure hope your doctor calls soon!!

I may call and bug you again soon, if that's ok! ;) In the meantime, let your kitties help you feel better! :D

Kelly, I'm so sorry that you're in so much pain. I sure hope that the doctors can find out what is causing this and that they can treat the problem easily. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Kelly , I hope the doctors can help you out ! Stomach-pain is very bad ; I used to suffer a lot from that years ago and even had 3 ulcers ! It was caused by an allergy for "acetyl-salicyl" or something in aspirines . I have to be very careful with painkillers now !
I wish you well!!!:) :) :)

I keep my fingers crossed.
Unfortunately many of these symptoms can come from different causes. However they should be able to rule out dangerous things quite quickly.

Whenever I start a flair up and take a NuLev it is almost immediate relief! I hope all goes well for you. I went through the colonoscopy at least 3X in the past couple of years. They could never find anything serious or life threatening so labeled it IBS. IBS is painful and a nuisance, but with these pills it's helped me keep it under control. Good luck!

Kelly,

I know that this is a very difficult time for you and it is intimidating to have a colonoscopy but it is something you should still do. It will help to rule out things like polyps or a herniated bowel. Generall IBS is a diagnosis that is given when there is a problem but MD's can't pinpoint an exact cause. Please go through with this just to be able to rule out other causes. If the MD's don't find anything then definitely ask for the NuLev or something else to help.

We all wish you well.

Thanks everyone so much for your prayers and well wishes. I'm feeling better today. My Dr. prescribed Vicodin last night and it finally made the pain go away. I'm on a liquid diet until my colonoscope....something my Dr. is scheduling for me with a GI.

I will be sure and update everyone.

Thank you again for your kindness. It helps so much. :)

I had an ulcer and that's no fun either. It may be almost impossible, but the less you think about it, the less pain you will have if stomach acid is the problem. Yes, I will pray.

I'm sorry I missed your post! I wasn't online for the last few days because I have been sick with the flu. Plus, I don't usually have time to check the General area.

First of all stop the worrying! I know it's easy for me to say, but your wasting energy on 'what if's'! Keep the faith and wait until you have facts to work on.

Right now your symptoms could be numerous things. My family has had alot of experience with digestive and stomach disorders. And it is frustrating when they do lump everything under IBS.

Let the doctors do the tests and take it one step at a time. Read as much as you can on what the doctors say you might have. I find educating yourself always helps since then you can relate better to what the doctor tells you.

Like I said, keep the faith and know that many postive thoughts and prayers are being sent your way!

((((Hugs))))
