Raven and I competed in our first skijoring race this past weekend. My goal was to finish with no broken bones--which we accomplished. It was a five mile course with some huge hills. We hadn't practiced going down any hills quite that big before! Amazing how much braver I was with 100 people watching LOL We finished in seventh place with a time of 23 minutes. This
was my first race ever and Raven has only been in harness for about six weeks. She did GREAT! She was a little overwhelmed at the start line--too many dogs, strange place, people everywhere. But once we got on the trail, she was her usual little self. Her being a little freaked out might have been a good thing--she didn't squeal while we were waiting for our turn!

Absolutely!! It was so much fun! We were going to do one this weekend, but I just found out that they don't have a separate class for one dog. You can use up to three dogs and I don't think it's fair to Raven to put her up against a small sled team! My other good skijoring dogs are a little on the timid side and I doubt they could handle the chaos at the start line!
