They can only get on the couch if invited up. Other wise, their beds by the fire.

mickey isn't allowed on furniture until he gets over his teething and chewing. he is allowed up only if he is on someone's legs. he has a bed in the livingroom. :D

Other than that, she has beds of her own all over the house.

Anyplace they want. :D The couch, the back of the couch, the rocker-recliner, the back of the rocker-recliner. The beds, their otherwise useless beds, on the desk when I'm online sometimes. Oh, and the worst part? Chester has his own lawnchair for suntanning. We've covered it in fabric so the plastic doesn't get hot!! LOL!!
Boy, do they have me trained or what???

One of the most interesting things I've noticed here on PT is how many couches are covered in blankets, sheets etc. :D :D

Pepper is little and doesn't shed much.
Pepper is allowed on the furniture and beds.
Rocky and Sheba are not allowed on the furniture.
At one time, I use to let Sheba sleep on the bed, but I put a stop to it, because she sheds to much and also took
up to much room. :)

Just look at my sig :) We started out, no dogs on furniture. Then it once chair only. Then it was okay for Sadie to be on the couch if she was snuggling. Then it was the living room, but not bedroom. By the time we got Cincy, it is fair game, dogs can go where ever they want, people are lucky to NOt be on the florr :) They aren't allowed on the furniture at Grandma's (Ralph's mom's) though, and they don't even try to get on it.

All our pets, even when I was a kid, have always been allowed on all furniture and have always slept with us....Louie has a couple of beds throughout the house, but of course he only sleeps in them when his Kitties will let him.;)

My dogs can go wherever they want. They sleep in bed with me under the covers and (hehe) they usually steal the couch and I'm left to curl up in the dog bed !!! :D :D :D

Funny that you should bring this question up today. This is the dogs favorite chair in the house. It is also my favorite chair. Let it be said that due to this chair having 2 - 3 beings on it day in and day out for quite a few years, I had to acknowledge that it was getting rather ratty looking. We stopped in at the Lazy Boy Gallery today just to walk around and ended up ordering not one but two new chairs. They will be a slightly different style and won't be able to accommodate 2 dogs and me at the same time. Someone will be in for a rude awakening.

We bought a futon just for the dogs. That way I can just throw the cover in the wash once a week or so. They aren't allowed in the bedroom or on the bed.

What a cute picture Rachel!!!!
Our dogs are not allowed on the furniture, since we just bought it--I'm sure the rule will slide eventually, as they are allowed up if they are on one of our laps--if it were entirely up to me, they would be there all the time, but we compromise--they can go on the bed, but not the couch or chair!!

This is not a couch picture but it points out that they pretty much sit/lay wherever they want. :) This is one of the few pictures that I have where most of my furkids were snoozing in a little clump. Of course by the time I got the camera out they woke up and started moving around. Heaven only knows where Andy was. One of these days I'll get the 4 of them together in the same place . (hopefully).

Here's another favorite place of theirs. They love to recline on the recliner! ;) Ripley isn't in this picture because he hadn't come to live with us yet. :) (Andy sort of blends into Bella.) My apologies to the dogs for bringing CATS into this thread!

They have their own couch, and each has their own bed!

They can lie on the bed, if either myself or my husband is in the bed, and NOT if we both are in the bed, because then their is no space for us!
They tend to lie under the bed - nice and cool.

They know they are NOT allowed on the new couch ...... well, now they do :D . At first, they thought it was just another couch for them :D

I used to let Keegan on the couch when she was a baby to snuggle, now I don't. But she does sleep in bed with Kylie and I. Kylie is allowed to go whereever she pleases. She jumps up in my lap when I am eating ice cream. I am waiting for Keegan to do that!!!

Drake is allowed anywhere expept the new couches in our livingroom. We hang out mostly in the family room, and he is allowed on the furniture in there. In the living room, he has a bed that matches the new loveseat and sofa.

My girls get to go pretty much wherever they want to. However, we do make them get down when we want them down and they usually pretty much listen. At times, they act like the love seat is their couch and Dakota acts like the chair is hers alone and seems upset if Destiny tries to get up there with her. They also have their own beds but they usually get to be on the furniture without a fight from mom and dad as you can see!

Dakota and Destiny's positions are so funny. Being as their coloring is so similar, it is almost hard to tell where one of them ends and the other begins. :D :D

Our animals aren't *suppose* to be on the furniture (other than the beds). Mom has gone to the extreme of putting stuff in the chairs when we're at work/gone for the day.

As you can see... it REALLY works....

All of these pics are TOO cute and funny!! :D

No dogs on couches/beds allowed here. :( Reggie does often get to sit on the computer chair. He also enjoys sitting on the toilet seat. No kidding...I need a pic of that, lol.

They find their way to have some dog furniture anyway though.....

Like my banana chair...

They are allowed to sit or lay wherever they want. Sometimes I have to tell them get off the couch if we have company. They are not allowed in our bed room no more since we got a water bed last weekend. Hubby dearest is afraid they will poke a whole in the bed.

Our dogs have access to everything as well. This last Monday, my husband had a group of people over (they study Spanish together), and it was a tad embarrassing with the dogs (exciting with the company) running from from one piece of furniture to the next. As soon as someone even looked like they were going to sit down, up popped a dog in that spot.

my dogs are allowed on ALL the furnitur, this includes the kitchen table, wellnot the table itself they are allowed on the chairs, and on all the beds, we bought all our couches to match the dogs.....ect.... misty sleeps in her crate until she is trustworthy, and happy and Ripley sleep on my bed, perky sleeps on my moms bed, and shadow sleeps under it, they all have choice though :) and becuz they have so much freedom they dont have the temptation of somthing forbidden know what I mean? they always want what they dont have, well they have everything(furniture wise) so they are perfectly happy on the floor rather then the couch and its their choice :p

My dogs are always doing stuff like that!! Before we had our basement waterproofed, the salemen was hearing for an evlauation. He was sitting ont he edge of the couch so Ralph and I could see what he was talking about. Cincy jumped up behind him and started licking his ear! Thankfully he was a dog person, and by the time he left, he told us if ever needed to get rid of our dogs, to call him! I told him he'd have to wait in line :)

On Wednesday, as I didn't have to work and Brian didn't know yet, he left to be there on time. We'll as soon as he left, Dakota climbed right up on the couch and positioned herself directly behind where I was reading the paper and sat down behind me. Then she proceeded to lay down and claim it as her. She acted like I was aloud to stay on the edge of the couch, but I better not try to move her, LOL!

Then a night or two later, Brian got up from the couch for something. As he walked back up to the couch, watching tv and paying no attention to the couch, he stood there for a minute watching the tv. Just when he was about to sit down, he almost fell over because Dakota scared him. She had quietly walked right around the coffee table and climbed right up on the couch sitting in his seat without him even knowing she was in the same room. It was halarious to see her starring at him waiting for him to sit down, and then see him flip out because he had no idea she was there. I couldn't understand how he did not see her pull this off, but she did. It was too funny.
