I have posted the stats for unspayed dogs several times, this was in our local humane society's newsletter.
The sad truth about cat overpopulation:
Just one pair of cats, plus all their kittens, add up to :
First Year 12
Second Year 66
Third Year 382
Fourth Year 2,201
Fifth Year 12,680
Sixth Year 73,041
Seventh Year 420,715
Eighth Year 2,423,316
Ninth Year 13,968,290
Tenth Year 80,399,780

Just goes to show how important spaying and neutering your pets is!!!

I think you're preaching to the choir, but it's still an impressive stat. We should post this at Petsmart near the Luv-a pet center.

At all? Or just right now??? Many kittens show up during spring time...

The numbers are amazing....this should be on TV, like a public service announcement.

Wow! I knew that they multiplied fast but not this fast. I think that kitten season is usually during the spring and summer months. Thanks for sharing these facts. :)
