Whoo-hoooo! I Got A Scholarship!!

$1,000 to any college I want to, so I'm gonna use that to go to a community college for a year or two..startin' next fall.. Whooo-hoooo! I am so happy! I also filled out 2nd application for another scholarship I want to try to win, so, wish me luck, y'all! I need it for Kent State University.. ;)

CONGRATS!! Isn't that an awesome feeling?! I remember my Senior year of HS when I got my scholarship notice. I was estatic...covered half my tuition. Which was lovely until I found out that about 70% of all students at my university got a scholarship of some kind. Oh well, Who cares...I'd be really deep in student loan debt(moreso than I already am :p ) if I hadn't had that. Good Luck on getting another!

PS: Don't forget to fill out the FAFSA hopefully you can get grant money also.

I had a full ride to NMSU right out of HS but *sigh* thought I was in love :rolleyes: and stayed here. Ended up going to NMSU a yr later but I had to pay for the majority of it. Apply for all the scholarships/grants you can, they sure do help!!

I wish I had gotten a scholarship!! That's smart, going to community college for a year. I went head first into Penn State, only to find out a few years later, that it wasn't my thing. So, now I owe back my loans (which I am paying), and don't have anything to show for it. Except I moved here, and met my husband and some great friends--those are more important to me than making lots of $$$$.
I had an ex-boyfriend whose sister went to Kent--she loved it!!!

Congrats Rachel! I won a $1,000 scholarship last year and didn't use it....:eek: It's only because the school it was for...really, it's the school I want to go to...but right now, it's too far for me to drive, and I can't afford to move out...especially w/ Nebo.

I applied for a few scholarships for next year. I'm going to try to go to a school that is much closer, to at least get my general ed. I'd like to eventually major in art, or I've even thought about being a vet assistant at times...don't know.
