I am desperately trying to find someone to take this Akita and give him shelter as i cannot do so for longer than tonight :( :( The SPCA is useless!!!! I have had to yell at them like three times tonight and their attitude is keep the dog or let it go

The contact person there is

good news :) the SPCA finally got a hold of the owner, gave me her # and i called her and she came a few mins later for "Lucky", so named because he was a junk yard dog that was beaten up by other dogs and badly treated. The SPCA got him and were going to euthanize him because they thought he was unadoptable (apparently they have a clause that they can kill any animal deemed 'unadoptable') This lady got him at the last min *she belongs to a pet rescue society near me* and put him in a foster home. The fosters left the dog in a room with the window open a crack and left the house, when they returned the dog had broken the window and escaped! they were too chicken to call Louiza right away so she didn';t find out till much later! Louiza told me she called the cops, radio stations, the SPCA and came up to strangers and said if they found her dog she'd give them 100 bucks! Anyway, happy ending! i wouldn't take money from her but only asked that she bring a can of dog food and perhaps a toy for Juneau :).

Also, she said she is keeping the dog, no more foster homes LOLOL
he is a very nice dog considering what a hellish 3 years he has had. Juneau and Lucky got along very well! Juneau was happy to have a friend over for a visit, lol. Oh and the idiot fosters were supposed to put Lucky;s tags on immediately, which they did not, sheesh!!

I'm glad to hear you had a happy ending!
I'm really disappointed in the animal shelter near the city I live in. They won't even temperment test any pitbulls they get, they just euthanize them. :( None of them get out of the shelter once they're in.

Yep.....they hide the pits in the back, but the couple of times I've been in there a couple of the "nice" little dogs have growled at me and those are the ones up for adoption! It'll never make sense to me......

Lucky for Lucky your paths crossed! I am so glad that his owner was found and that he will no longer be with those idiot fosters! I understand accidents can happen, but it seems like Lucky's escape could have been prevented!
