When my mom and I go on vacation- I love to take pictures of anything worth taking-lol. Here are some of my favorite pictures taken in 2002
http://members.aol.com/OrliBloom177/sun1.jpg
This picture was taken by me, in Missouri on the way back from the Missouri State Fair.

This picture was also taken in Missouri...

This picture was taken in Cape Hatteras (a string of islands), North Carolina, in spring of 2002. That hill figure is a sand dune.

This is a picture I took of a scary storm we had to drive through on the way back from Cape Hatteras. The storm was so nasty, all the cars had to turn on their 4-ways, so you could see the person in front of you. It was so dark out at one point, it felt like midnight.

Just wanted to share those with you...I might add more pictures later.

What states have you been too? I've been to Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Iowa, Missouri (4 times), Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Kentucky (3 times), Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, and California.

My mom and I drove from North Carolina to Wisconsin in one day. That really pooped me out, and I wasn't even the one driving. We were going to stop in Louisville, KY overnight- but I caught the 24 hour flu and felt like *&@%, so we drove straight home. We were on the road from 7 am to 10:30 pm. OI!!

Nice Pictures! I've been to New York, Illinois, Texas, California, Oregon (so many times I can't count!!!), Washington, Nevada, and New Jersey. :) I've been to other states as well, when I was a baby/toddler, so I don't even remember those at all. My favorite states of the ones I've been to have always been Oregon and California. What is everyone's favorite state of the ones you've visited?

Oh boy, that's a hard one...I'd have to say Kentucky is the best (Lexington area), all it has to do with is horses. Every where you go in Lexington, that's all you see. I have to say though, a lot of the people around there aren't the sweetest, since half of them own multi-million dollar Thoroughbred farms. Oh well, I just ignore them. :D Tennessee is beautiful- especially the Smokey Mountain area. Illinois is called my "Napping State", because everytime we drive through it I fall a sleep (10 hours of corn fields gets really boring.) What really stinks is- in order for us to get to othe states, we have no choice but to drive through "Napping State". I hate that!! Not to mention stopping every 2 miles to pay tolls-   No offense Illinois people. The Carolina's are beautiful too, especially near the ocean. Oh- I could go on and on...hehe.

Yellowlablover,

I LOVE CAPE HATTERAS!!!! We went their on our honeymoon, and last May, we returned for our 5th anniversary. We are planning on going again in 2 years. The neat thing about Hatteras is that you can get the sun rising over the ocean and setting over the sound. I just wish it wasn't such a far drive...it usually takes us around 24 hours. The storms there ARE pretty scary. I sat out on the deck for a while just watching the lightning...it was awesome!

WOW! There is somebody else besides me and my mom who knows where it is! Hardly anyone has heard of it before. While we were waiting for the ferry (I slept during the 45 min ride, so I wouldn't get sick) to take us to Cape Hatteras, we went horseback riding on the beach. There were washed up jellyfishes everywhere. I even touched a Portugiese (sp!!) Man O' War. It was really pretty, and really rubbery- :p :D :D . Where did you stay?? I'd love to go back there again, maybe when I get married. I ran around on the beach collecting sea shells and I ran into a Horseshoe Crab- it was very dinasouar-looking. Talk about huge waves- a big storm was coming, so it was pretty nasty wave-wise. I will re-size some Hatteras pictures we took and post some of em' on here. :) :) :)

Yes, we take pictures of the weather channel-LOL. See where Cape Hatteras is? On that string of islands-now everyone know where it is. Look at the big storm that went through.

Me (oh God) on a look-out deck on the ocean (look at the sky-storms coming.)

A beautiful walk way leading to the ocean below the hill. Whoever made that bridge- thank you, I love you! Because I finally got a break at dodging the nasty crabs that run in and out of hole in the sand.

LOOK AT THOSE HOUSES, they are fricking huge! Don't want to know the price tag.

Here's Mr. Man O' War- isn't it pretty. I avoided the tentacles in case it was still alive. I touched the bubble part, that was cool.

That's the ferry boat with a pretty sunset behind it.

We stayed in the KOA Kamping Kabins there in Avon the first time around. This last year, we got smart and rented a house for 2 weeks further south.

The best part of Cape Hatteras is the privacy of the beaches. Down on Okracoke, we had the ENTIRE beach to ourselves. We saw no more than 10 people the whole day. We found a 400 lb. turtle nest one early (very early) morning, and that was really exciting. I would love to see your pictures, YLL! Did you see the wild Okracoke ponies?? It had started to rain, so I only got about 2 pictures of them. Anywhoo, I think that that is so neat that you know about this place as well. Most people, when I tell them that we stayed there on our honeymoon, go HUH??? You stayed where??? :D

I love the pics!! They look so familiar!! I'll have to go dig around on my hard drive and get some pictures resized, too. :D

We went to Oakracoke too, the only thing on the beach were Gulls & a German Shepherd. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. It was really nice, and there was a Mallard in the pool- :D :D . To get to the ferry, we had to drive through a military base, Camp Lejeune. We had to stop at a gate, and these two EXTREMELY cute Army dudes (PANT, PANT,PANT!) told us all the rules and gave us a permit to drive through the camp. They told us we couldn't take pictures, and we had to take down the radar dector, because it would mess up military signals.
