He he he!! :D That was hilarious!! Yup, I'm a child of the 80's. The jelly shoes thing made me crack up...I had forgotten them. Man oh man did I want a pair. My mom FINALLY gave it and got them, and then I hated the smell of them. They stunk! I was surprised they didn't say anything about Cabbage Patch Kids!?!

WOO HOO! I'm not alone :D I don't know if I should be proud of the fact that I remember quite a bit almost all of this stuff or embarassed by it...I'm leaning towards embarassed because some of it I still like or do. :o

You know what I mean, I still want to be a goonie. Heck sometimes I walk around and quote it at times...which was really bad when I was watching Fellowship of the rings and the Two Towers.

The Fraggle Rock theme song is actually the ring tone on my cell phone...sometimes I'm so busy singing along that I forget to answer it.

I still listen to New Kids...it's something I proudly will admit to :D
Constantly use Wax On and Wax Off...as well as Live or Die...death first...wrong *HONK*

and I've had in depth conversations about why Smurfette was the only female smurf...all I can say is everytime we have that conversation, the outcome of it isn't very favorable in Smurfettes court.

There are other things on the list I can admit to but I think I've proved myself a big enough geek as it already is thanks :D

Ok - I am old! What were HYPERCOLOR SHIRTS?? Would I as a adult at that time worn one? (and didn't know it!) The 8o's doesen't seem like it was that long ago..................

Hypercolor shirts were heat sensitive...so if you placed your hand on the shirt, it changed color in the shape of your hand print...after many washes in the hot dryer...they didnt work as well ;)

I am not alone!! Almost all of those applied to me:) I was a bit older than kindergarden when Jem was popular....

Jem is truly outrageous, truly, truly, truly outrageous
ohhhh, Jem the music's contagious...
Jem is my name, no one else is the same, Jem is my name
We are The Misfits
Our songs are better
We are The Misfits, The Misfits
And we're going to get her!

How sad is it that I remember the theme song for Jem! I could also finish the rest of the Fresh Prince theme song if ya want!

You loved Howard the duck and Adventures in Babysitting ....Yes, definite sleep over movies along with Ferris Buhler's(sp?) Day Off.

To this day, I can't stand in-line skate. Give me a skating rink with regular skates anyday!

Hmmm...New kids, Debbie Gibson, Tiffany!

Anybody have a Teddy Rupskin(sp?) Or watch the show Under the Rainbow?(I think that was what it's called...it was one of those educational shows we watched all the time in Second Grade...Levar Burton from Star Trek was one of the hosts)

Yes I had a pink crimper, hair sprayed my bangs to the side, and wore side ponytails*shudder*

Anyone remember jams? those florescent colored almost knee length shorts. or, the baby doll socks worn with heels? Yes, I had jellies!

Slip and slides were made for skinned knees and bruises, but did that stop us? no!

Anyone remember Popples or Puf-a-lumfs?

I'll stop now. I could go on and on. My friends think I'm weird because with any 80s song that comes on the radio, I can usually name the song, artist and year in the 80s it was popular. Freaky, I know! :P

I have all of the Jem dolls and could sing the song right along with you!! She had the blinking earings and her boyfriend was named Rio :)

The Lavar Burton show was Reading Rainbow...

"i can do anything"
"i can fly anywhere"
"take a look"
"its in the book"
"reading rainbow"

(now i feel really old, b/c i watch this everday with my son!! LOL :)

Jams! Yup, I wore them.

Ever have parachute pants...they were the material that you would think a parachute would be made of...

I also had those rubber bracelets that you wore like 30 of them in different colors...

We also had sticker books and we would trade stickers...ahh, to be a kid again :)

Reading Rainbow!! That's it. I loved that show.
I also had tons of those bracelets. We used to loop them all together in one big chain.
I think I still have my sticker book somewhere. I think that's where I first picked up negotiating skills! lol

I loved reading rainbow...loved it, it wasn't as good as the facts of life mind you but I still loved it.

Popples had at least a couple of those, they were so cool. Wore the Jams and the parachute pants (I must admit I went through a Hammer faze)

The Care Bears...I just recently bought two that they put out for the 20th anniversary "CARE BEAR COUNT DOWN 5...4...3..2...1 STARE..Who's that coming from somewhere up in the sky...dodododo) I also have a couple of Care Bear shirts that a company in town made.

And believe it our not my best friend and I...we've been friends since Grade one...still sing the Jem song together.

Buhler, Buhler...Anyone, Anyone.

I still have my pink crimper!! Haven't used it in 13 years, but I brought it with me from Lebanon and it has moved everywhere I have. Andrew thinks I need to let it go! :(

We read the list together and were laughing so hard. There were about 5 that I didn't relate to, but that's probably coz I lived over sees. Andrew says it's denial!
