Recently one of my friends, a computer wizard, paid me a visit. As we were talking I mentioned that I had recently installed Windows on my PC, I told him how happy I was with this operating system and showed him the Windows CD. Too my astonishment and distress he threw it into my micro-wave oven and turned it on. I was upset because the CD had become precious to me, but he said: 'Do not worry, it is unharmed.' After a few minutes he took the CD out, gave it to me and said: 'Take a close look at it.' To my surprise the CD was quite cold and it seemed to have become thicker and heavier than before. At first I could not see anything, but on the inner edge of the central hole I saw an inscription, in lines finer than anything I have ever seen before. The inscription shone piercingly bright and yet remote, as if out of a great depth:

4F6E65204F5320746F2072756C65207468656D20616C6C2C20 4F6E65204F5320746F

'I cannot read the fiery letters,' I said.
'No,' he said, 'but I can. The letters are Hex, of an ancient mode, but the language is that of Microsoft, which I shall not utter here. But in common English this is what it says:'

One OS to rule them all,
One OS to find them,
One OS to bring them all
And in the darkness bind them.

He!He!He! That cracked me up! :D :D

Have you ever tried putting a CD in a microwave? It created a bright spark and when you remove the CD it looks like you applied a crackle finish on it! Totally ruins it!

I have seen microwaved CD's hung in offices of co-workers. :D I've never tried it though for fear of ruining my microwave. :o

If you put it in for 2-3 seconds, it won't ruin your microwave. I freaked the first time I saw my brother do that.

Paul is still dead??? Didn't know he was ever dead!!!! I believe you meant John Lennon. Paul McCartney is very much still alive and recently remarried and became Sir Paul when he was knighted by the British Royals!

I don't think I want to attempt putting a CD in my microwave. I'll just take your work for it that it won't harm it!!! ;)

Sorry, we're dating ourselves. Back in the 60's (hey, I was just a child then, honest) there were all kinds of rumors going on that Paul was dead. It was all nonesense, but even in that age before the internet, rumors like that were hard to squelch. Anyway, some of the rumors included that if you played a certain Beatles record backwards, you would hear the words "Paul is dead" - then there was the Beatles album cover where Paul was walking barefoot and some people said this was the evidence that he was dead.

It was silly:p
