I would go to the AKC site, click to the breed, and start there.

The Akc site will give you the local clubs in your area . Then call the club for a list of breeders, Check on them too ask to see their places and meet the dog several times. I just heard of a breeder who kidnapped a dog used him them filed her displactic dog as the father. Don't allow them to keep the female don't let her out of their sight. and get copies of that males certificate before the breeding. A good honst breeder will not complain about it., Best dogs (in my opinion) in the world.

Most pure breed dogs have a parent organization in affiliation with the AKC. Then they have regional and local clubs under it. For Golden Retrievers we have the parent organization The Golden Retriever Club of America. Then the Greater Pittsburgh Golden Retriever Club is affliated with the main organization. Active members of the breed are usually members of both organizations.

For English Springer Spaniels the parent organization is the English Springer Spaniel Field Trial Association. You are better off checking their site for all pertinent information on this breed of dog and finding reputable breeders of Champion Stud dogs you may want to consider breeding too.
