Well I was gonna try to get some butt shots at lunch, but
Oz had other ideas. These are the results of trying to throw
the ball with one hand and take a pic with the other.

Now I know it doesn't look like he's even remotely
trying to catch the ball in those pics, but he actually
does catch it most times.

Getting ready

Okay well he missed that one

But here he is catching one

Notice how interested Murph and Maddie are in Oz's ball. That lil'
doggie butt over on the patio is Maddie eating and that's Murph right
behind Oz looking for a weed to pee on.:)

Lol, he looks like he's moving it with his eyes! He's so gorgeous, he has to be one of the most beautiful dogs on here! Awesome eyes, beautiful colorings, adorable face, and he looks oh so soft!

Hi Dixie!

I know I usually think he's not going to catch it, but his reflexes
are really quite fast. Lots of times he snatches the ball, as it's
going past him. He's getting pretty good at the frisbee too.
Murph and Maddie have never been much interested in catching
things and bringing them back, so it's been kind of kewl having
a wanna be retriever.:)

awww thanks kfamr! oz is blushing.:) His coat is getting quite
soft to the touch. It use to feel more like a bristle brush, but
over time it's changed, even though I haven't really done anything
different to it. Maybe because his undercoat's gotten thicker.

hola T&F!

I know I was looking at the pics and thinking "dang! I need to
mow".;)

It's been so gorgeous here lately. Blue sunny skies and
high60s/low 70 temps. I don't see myself ever moving north.
I love the warm climate too much.

hiya lut!

Well sometimes he feels the need to trot around with it a lil',
before he brings it back, but yeh he does bring it back to me.
I think his favorite part is the catching, so he knows he has to
bring it to me for that to happen. He's also getting to where he
drops it in front of me. I'm finding out what fun it is to have a
dog that retrieves. My terriers much prefer to attack their toys
or play tug of war with'em and don't much see the point of the
repetition of retrieving them.

I really like those pictures. It is so cool how the ball looks like it is floating in the air! And of coarse Oz is such a handsome boy ( but you already knew that). Can't forget about Murph and Maddie. They are little cuties too. But they don't look to interested in playing ball LOL

This pic is AWESOME!!

I think I could try all day and never catch a shot of the ball in mid-air like that! Wow! Oz is breathtaking...gorgeous, gorgeous dog!!

p.s. Reggie (schnauzer) and Smokey (poodle) aren't much for retreiving either. Well, they will go after sticks (and rocks) in a lake occasionally...and fish lol. But as far as throwing a ball or frisbee..no way. Smokey won't even bother, and Reggie will run over, sniff it, then walk off.

Nebo is a retriever boy! He loves to go and get toys to put in my lap for me to throw. Actually, what he really likes (he did this several times while watching a movie tonight) is to find a really loud slobber covered squeaky toy, and squeak it on my mom's head while she is sleeping on the couch.

Hi Chrish!

I was actually trying to get a shot of Oz catching the ball, so I
kind of stumbled into the ball floating thing. Now if I purposely
tried for the floating thing, I'd never be able to get it.:)

LOL! Not to worry Cinder and Smoke. Come summer ya'll can
taunt us with your wonderful weather, whilest we're drenched in
sweat with our tongues hanging out from the 100 degree/100% humidity temps. :)

I think Oz is in for a shocker too. When I got him, it was mid-Sep
and it was so hot he refused to leave the shady areas of the
yard. So I'm thinking when summer rolls around, he's not going
to be asking to go outside quite as much as he does now.

Thanks trisha! I know I can't believe how much Oz has grown
either. I really need to work on him jumping into the car, because
he's much too heavy for me to be lifting anymore. Either that or
I'm gonna have to start pumping iron to get in shape for it.:)

hi ya ownerof3dogs!

I'll have to try and get some action shots of M&M doing their
favorite things. Murph peeing on anything upright, when we
go walking and Maddie ripping her hedgehog to shreds, then
doing her shimmy dance of victory on top of it.:)

hi rubymutt!

thank ya! Murph and Maddie send out a special thanks for
recognizing them too! Course they do think you could have left
out the comments on that overgrown Collie and just focused on
their cuteness. :)

hey there aly!

It's a Canon A40...2 megapixels... and yeh I've been most
happy with the quality of the pics... Buttttt... I have had some
issues with the software to download the pics from the camera
to the computer. The only computer I've got it working on is my
PC at work, which is inconvenient at times. My sister who also
has a Canon (not sure of the model, but it's 4 megapixels) has
also had some issues with the software too.

hey ya wolfq!

Maddie and Murph will go after the ball, but they won't bring
it back. Maddie feels the need to treat all toys as prey so they
must be killed and Murph wants to play keep away and have
me chase him.

LOL! at Nebo... I think if Oz did that to my mom, that'd be the
last time she'd doggiesit him for me.:)

hiya mugsy!

The older he gets the more affectionate he gets. Not just to
me, but to M&M too. M&M were grumbling at each other a few
nights ago and he got so upset. He tried to Collie nose Maddie,
but she growled at him, so he went over and nosed Murph and
then laid his head on Murph.

LOL! Oh Oz does like to trot around with his ball for a few, but
unless he ever figures out a way to throw the ball to himself,
I'm safe that'll he'll eventually come back to me with it.

Great Pics! Thanks for sharing!

I'm here in Texas too, but our backyard doesn't look that nice. It looks more like we were back in Ohio. We've had so much rain this year and the girls just love to run and play in the backyard that it's mostly dead and we've got lots of mud were the grass probably won't come back this spring. We're going to have to redo our entire backyard before we move out!

Thanks Dakota's Mom!!

I live in the SouthEast part of Texas, so we have fairly mild
winters. It's finally suppose to get below freezing this weekend,
so the grass'll look more dead after that.

When Murph and Maddie were younger, I use to have very
pronounced trails along the fence line and to the patio. But
not now, that they're older. Murph trots down the one fence
line next to the street and Oz'll follow him. About the only time
Oz really runs is when he's chasing a frisbee or ball. He runs kind
of daintily though, so he doesn't really churn up much in the way
of mud.
