This happened here in Toledo last week. I meant to post it then, but forgot until I saw the recent threads about the dog in Tenn. In this case there may have been more of a reason, but the fault still lies in human hands. Were these dogs trained to attack? It just seems cops too often have a shoot first ask questions later when it comes to dogs....

If these men were truly being attacked I can understand wanting to stop the attack, but why couldn't they have used some sort of a tranquilizing gun?

If I understand the article correctly, the attacks occured, then the police went to get the dogs. They were not attacking at the time they were shot. One of the attacks was just a phone call with no evidence. So I have to agree Pam, why not, a tranq gun?
