I'm renaming this thread temporarily "Dangerous Cat Games".
This morning, Clover was playing on my bed, right next to the wrought iron foot board. He was so cute that I started taking pictures.
After a minute or so, he stopped moving and was laying motionless. Then he started jerking his head and kicking.
That's when I realized that his head was stuck. First I was paralyzed, then I tried to get his head out.
It made him panic even more, and he tried to pull his head out.
I then just held him still, gently, and he calmed down. I was screaming internally, but tried to stay calm on the outside.
I called my boyfriend, who was about to get off work. It would take him about 20 minutes to get home, and I was prepared to hold Clover until help arrived.
About one minute after the call, his head suddenly got free. He ran under bed, but seemed to be ok. This whole incident occurred in about 4 minutes, a lifetime, it seemed.
I never had a non-illness related emergency like that, and I think that Clover and I used up all of our 9 lives.:(

I would have freaked too. Cats tend to do that, resilient little ones though.

Thanks everybody! Clover is fine. It took him a few hours to re-appear.
He's 10 years old now, and this was the first time that something like that had happened.

I remembered a 9 lives situation I had years ago with my cat Jerry. He was wearing a leather collar and the buckle was near his chin. He was licking and cleaning his chest when I realized his lower canine tooth was caught in the buckle! Fortunately I saw this happen and tried pushing down on his jaw. That didn't work so called to my Mom to get some scissors. Jerry was really struggling during this but I was able to cut through the leather and get him free. He wore a figure 8 collar after that.
