This is one of our veterinarians' favorite words: Anthropomorphism.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthropomorphism
He thinks it is ridiculous when people say things like "he looks so sad" or "she'll be mad at mom" about their pets.
Unlike the t-shirt that 's titled "A cat's many moods" and the dozen kitty faces look all the same, I still like to think that if a cat looks mad to us by her facial expression, she's actually mad.
Mindy certainly let's me know what she thinks.:D

"I can't believe you just did that!"

"Pleeease, mom."
60270
"Yuck, that was spiked catnip!!!"
60271
"Go away!"
60272
"Let me think about that..."

Let me guess - he's an older guy. Newer science is proving what we have known (at least I have) all along - of course animals have emotions!

Of course they do! And you can just look at their faces to get a pretty good idea.

Of course he is!:D And he can't keep us from interpreting every dog's and cat's emotion, even if it drives him crazy.
