How Cold is it where you are?

I couldn't find the original post and thread.

Once in a while we get "EXTREME COLD WARNING IN EFFECT" from Environment Canada. The current one started a couple of days ago. Here's today's forecast in degrees F.

Current temperature at 10:30 a.m. is -22 with a wind chill of -31. And there's hardly any wind!

Wind chill this morning is -45. Can hardly wait for the balmy -31 this afternoon! :eek:

This is why almost all vehicles here are equipped with block heaters. They are attached to the engine block and a grounded plug comes out through the front grill. I have a switch on my breaker panel that turns it on and off. It will have been on 2 hours by the time I head out today.

You might be laughing about our temps, Candace, but for North Carolina natives (I am not one of them:D), it's coooold...
Today, we are in the upper 30sF, and snow is expected by the end of the week.
I grew up in the Bavarian Alps, where the winter temps are closer to yours.

It's COLD here at Concordia, Butler. It was a big, fat 0 degrees outside this morning and expected to go up to a "tropical"17 degrees! I know it's not quite as cold as my Canadian neighbors, but it's plenty cold for us in Western Pa.!

Well, I am in California. But it has been cold enough that there is ice on my windshield in the mornings. Too cold for me!!!
So many people are sick right now too. We aren't use to this coldness!
My car "yells" at me when it gets below 40°F and it has been yelling for the past two weeks.
It is supposed to be still this cold for the next few days.

Yes but right now it's -28oC (-18oF), with windchill of -40 which is the same in C and F. Heavy snow is falling, expecting 8 cm, there's at least that now.

I'm in Ontario, Canada, we're under an extreme weather warning too because of the freezing temps, and the chilling weather is suppose to last well into next week.

That's me! It is so cold and blizzard the mourning doves are roosting on my porch, under a chair and on my tool chest to get out of the wind for a bit!

I just finished a bowl of stew I had frozen a couple weeks ago, I am cozy and warm.

North Carolina is having an unusually cold and snowy winter. This morning, it started snowing at 4:30am (I know because that's kitty breakfast time:eek:), it's 9:45am now, and we have already 4 inches. Windchills tonight will be in the single digits and below zero (in F).
I'll be outside in a little while to frolic in the snow:D because even the vet hospital is closed today.

This has been the most serene and beautiful day so far. I spent about 2 hours outside, clearing my car and covering the windshield with cardboard (just in case), walking around and taking pictures.

My kitties are indoor only, they've never been outside. They don't seem to be impressed when looking out the window:D. Yes, there's enough food, especially for the cats.
I'm off today, but the hospital is closed for a second day. It's will be slightly above freezing today (last night temps 7F!), hopefully that helps.

This is our road today, very icy. It's a tertiary road, nobody plowed or salted it.

We've had MORE snow. On Monday morning (Yesterday) the temp was -32C with a wind chill of -41 (-25.6F and -41.8F). I layered up like anything to maybe walk outdoors but I would have lost my nose :D so used my backup kit and went to the indoor track.

It's getting a bit warmer as the week goes on. Last Thursday I did my paper routes in the midst of our heavy snowfall warning. THIS Thursday it will be somewhat cold but SUNNY!

Overnight, we got lots of rain. This morning, around 9 am, it changed over to snow. It is still snowing, and around 33 F.

On this first day of spring, the temperature is in the mid-forties and it's rainy. Tomorrow morning, we are expecting some snow!

We had snow yesterday, and today it's incredibly windy and cold. By the weekend, we're supposed to get more snow or possibly freezing rain. Yikes!
