This is Kentucky, a temporary foster, is living with me, while a more long term foster is found. She was picked up by AC for Anderson county on Oct 23, 2014, and scanned for a microchip. No one was available until Friday, so I volunteered. I had to drive to PAWS (AC Shelter) to get her, and then set her up in the back room. She peed in the carrier, but that was all.

Dry food appears to be a problem for her, so I've been feeding her wet with pumpkin. I might add some clindamycin for the buckshot. She was very constipated, so much so that she looked several weeks pregnant. She is a calm. relaxed kitty, so I let her out of the crate to get some exercise.

This was so urgent because she was one of the last kitties that JW took as a rescue, but was really stealing the funds from pledges. Kentucky had a few kittens with her that were called the Derbies. Those have not been located. We don't know why or how she was turned in.

I can give more details of the JW story if you ask. You might be wondering what she did with the cats once she had the pledge money.

The article is here:

She is fast and doesn't sit still when humans are around.

Kentucky doing what she likes best.

Eating again. Dry food, which might be stopping her up. A few tsp of pumpkin came to the rescue a little later.

Eating still. I wasn't going to feed her since she was at the shelter, but she eats what is put in front of her.

Some injuries that appear to be buckshot or pellets. She has removed a lot more hair and has been cleaning the wounds.

Oh my! Hello, pretty girl! She looks sort of buff-orangey colored? I don't even want to think about how she got those injuries. Welcome to PT!

Oh, you're lovely, Kentucky! I'm so sorry you got those injuries. God bless you, Anne.

Sickening, that story about that Julianne Westberry.

Kentucky is still good. I'm thinking Jane might really be put out by two extra kitties at once.

As usual, once I fostered, even as a temp it is hard to get someone else to take over. I've started deworming her and she gets vetted next Sunday, and after that we'll see.

It turns out that the wounds were not buckshot, but were from a bite from a cat fight, most likely. The vet tech said I was on the right track by starting her on Clindamycin. The cat will do most of the work herself.

She is still eating like food is going out of style. She doesn't like to poop, pumpkin in the food. I'm treating her for worms right now. I've not seen any in the poo. hmmmmm.

Miss Kentucky is an ankle biter and a hand biter. Any suggestions or questions?

How old is she, foster meowmie? Is she a kitten? Could you play with her with a fishing pole toy, so she can't bite your hand? I hope and pray her "backside" heals quickly and she tests negative for worms. She's so pretty!

She's about two? She's not interested in playing. She needs lots of rehab, although she is sweet and lovable. The wounds are bite marks and are healing. She does have worms and I treated for them but none showed in stool, or were obvious.

Kentucky is now with another foster. I took her to get vetted with the tech that works with our group. She forgot to get the tests and shots for Miss Kentucky. I hung out a bit back in the pet room at the PET STORE (Sorry don't need the store knowing we are doing our own vet care right on their premises). I stuck around when I found a certain person was there.

Another rescuer had expressed an interest in her when I first picked her up. She was there and I introduced myself. And Miss Kentucky. Love at first site. She had been following my updates on the rescue site, but not posting much, so she knew all about her. After talking with her, I realized she was serious about Kentucky.

Annie has a room at her house devoted to some survivors of this horror. These kitties are food aggressive or have other issues and need to be isolated from the general population. They get fed at the same times each day and she monitors.

So Kentucky is in with other kitties now, and eating together with others, although each in their own corner.

She even got a picture of her sitting still. Amazing!

Yes it is. The article barely scratches the surface. There is a lot that is not in public knowledge. And it needs to stay that way until the trial. As usual it might be easier to get her for fraud.
