Why do so many horror franchises now feature a clown as the main villain? It seems to be "in" to think of clowns as scary, when I never found them at all frightening!

I think that part of the creepiness is due to the fact that you don't know who is behind the greasepaint? Sometimes a childhood incident can really ruin it a person?

When I was a kid we went to the VFW Christmas party and the Santa was past the point of being 'drunk'. To this day, I can't stand to be around a 'santa' w/o remembering the smell of alcohol on the guy's breath....As a grown up, I should be past that thought, but it was too creepy - there I was giving my toy request to a guy who probably slept thru Christmas!!!;)

Well, we now have three pumpkins carved.

Pumpkin #1 was carved, the pumpkin itself was fine, but we had a failure. I burned the seeds. Therefore, I had to get the boy another pumpkin to properly have Halloween.

Being that I have writing to do tomorrow, how about a flagon of wine? (No carafes, please!)

Okay, dig out those Halloween baskets!

Remember when you were a kid and...

Well, if you ate a lot of chocolate you probably remember when a little better than others!

Yeah - but.................

I saw Dr Besser talking about this on GMA this morning. You would have to eat so much of it everyday, that you would get miserably sick from it, and sick and tired of it. I don't remember the exact figure he said - but it was 20 or 30 something bars of dark chocolate every day. I'll pass on that and have my memory fail little by little. Better than obesity or diabetes and a whole lot of other issues, and I'm really not much of a chocoholic anyway. For me - a little goes a long way! :)

T'was merely intended as a joke. The studied compounds are more prevalent in other foods, like wine. No way in heck I'm eating that much parsley, which is another source of the compounds.

DUH !!!!! Of course I knew you were joking. But it was interesting anyway and strange that I saw it talked about on t.v. just this a.m.

Years ago, my gastroenterologist said if I was to drink wine - that red wine is good for what ails the gutt. Of course I don't even like a true red wine...............it's white for me.

I'm drinking iced tea because it's 72 degrees outside - I think this might be the end of the stretch of warm days. When I was little, nice fall weather after the first frost was known as Indian summer, but I think that term may have gone by the wayside. We are supposed to be back to highs in the upper 50s by the end of the week.

Absolutely not - it is still very much in use - and a lot of times it's misused. You can't have IS until after the first frost, tho a lot of folks refer to mild days after a stretch of cool ones, as IS. Nope that's not IS. We had our first light frost last week - frost on the roof of the house, and car windows had to be scraped, but none on the grass. Don't know if that counts or not. Tomorrow we could see the high 70's, but later on in the week, the big chill returns - high not even making it to 50. Now that's more like it! :D Love the cool, crisp days.

Bleah - no thanks!

Almost warm today - one of those iced tea or hot tea dilemmas! I have cornbread with corn kernels and small bits of diced ham in it - anyone want some?

Tea, anyone? It's about time to get a pot brewing - great dark clouds on the western horizon here, and the sun just hid!

I'll have some tea Karen. Tough day at work, could use the soothing warmth of a cup of tea.

A cup of tea and some warm thoughts for everyone.

It was 85 degrees on Monday and today it's going to be a job if it hits 65?

Done.
