:o

Well, first there's good news ... and then there's good news ... and then there's good (but stressful) news! lol ;)

I was accepted into grad. skewl (Texas Tech Univ.) last wk, but I'm still waiting to see if the :mad:advisor:mad: will allow me into the class I want. Assuming I get in, the class is via the internet and very compatible with my new job-- a BIG relief! (If she doesn't let me in, I guess I'll have to wait until the following semester :( to begin my grad work.)

My new job: for the first 90 days it's strictly secretarial stuff (ie learning the basics of the program). After that, I'll start to dabble in *drum roll please* grant writing, with the possibility of taking over my boss's position.
FINALLY(!) Sumpin' in my field! :D :D

It is sooooooooo much better than my last job. My own office, FRIENDLY people, a heckuva lot less stress, an actual lunch break, and DOGS(!)--- I'm in the same building as the sheriff's office and they get to bring their 'sniffy' dogs (ie drug dogs) to work. Yesterday I had a HUGE golden come to visit! :D

The good/stressful news:
I applied for a staff writing position at a well known sanctuary. They want more writing samples from me; it is possible I will be traveling for a 2wk(!) evaluation/interview period. I'm absolutely thrilled, but at the same time a bit stressed; I REALLY want to interview but how in the world would I go about explaining a 2wk absence to my current boss? :( But the offer for the interview hasn't been made yet, so I'm putting the cart before the horse....

(Ok, confession... the work would be wonderful as it would be fun & in my field & dealing with animals, but I really just want to *cough, cough* visit *cough* the bun- *cough* -ny area and *cough* maybeevenadoptone.... *cough, cough* Not that I have an alterior motive or anything! lol ;) )

Thank you all for bein' "nosey" (read: caring!) lol

Aww Tonya, glad to hear you're doing good. Congrats on the new job :) I was hoping you'd be moving to Lubbock since thats a bit closer to here but maybe sometime in the future!

I'm sure if you decide to ... ahem... just visit the bunny section, there will be a big bunny in the sky smiling down at you and maybe even pushing you in a certain needy bun's direction :)

Hey Zippy,
Congrat's on the new job, it sounds great. Hurray, hurray!!!!

As far as, ahem, visitingthebunnyareaandadoptinganotherbun, I am sure Sophie would be pleased to know you loved her so much you are willing to rescue another bunny in need, not to take her place but as another much-loved companion.

As for me, bunnies just keep following me home...........

CONGRATULATIONS

Tonya, you remind me of my niece (Bella's Mom). She was applying for every counseling position all around her area in Northern California. NUTTIN!! And then everything came in at once and she has a problem trying to decide which way to go - shorter drive - less money - longer drive - more money.

I am so happy that you found a job and when the time comes to make the decision - you will know what to do.

YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
You sound SO much HAPPIER with this job.
Um, do you get in trouble with a certain K'Cee cat, coming home smelling of strange DOGS? Could this be why she murdered Mr. Orna Mentball? (If she did, in fact do the deed, that is.):D :D

I think I'm about 7-8 hours away from Lubbock. Pretty big drive but the halfway point drive wouldn't be bad!

Oh Tonya, that is a wonderful sanctuary, I send my donations to them two or three times a year and they do wonderful work. We have always wanted to visit, they have a few cabins for people who do want to visit and take tours. I get their newletter every month. How lucky you would be to get a job there all those wonderful animals to play with. Good Luck
