Fish folks: about those water changes!

Someone posted about this elsewhere, and I had a "duh now why didn't I think of that!" moment. Decided to share, in case anyone else never thought of this.

When you do water changes, use the out going water to water your house plants. In summer, use it to water your garden. It is already fertilized, plants LOVE it!

This does not work if you keep a marine tank \. Plants do not like the salt content.

I did this years ago when I had my 40 gallon tank. I used to just run the siphon line out thru the sliding glass doors and let it the water run on the ground and on the flowers and plants that were planted in that area.

Amazing how we can skip over such helpful little things-----I don'thave fish but have a few friends who do so I'll pass thie handy tidbit on to them.
