It's just so funny that now there is someone here who has the same type of pets as me, lol! It has taken so long it seems.

When I bred degus I had a mutation, black self degu pop up out of no where. James tried to buy him off me, but unfortunately he died. :(

Can you post pics of your spinies?:D

You don't know of a breeder around you who sells micro cavies or rock cavies do you? I have been looking for a mate for my Peanut.

Here is one of the Spineys. They both look the same, so it is hard to tell them apart. They are actually my son's, so he knows who is who. There were originally 4 of them, and we took them in as rescues, so they were pretty beat up looking, and are old now, so have slowed right down.

luckies4me: It's strange you should mentions the black degu, I let each of my girls have a litter (when I had girls), the plan was to keep a male as a companion for the male I had, and then find good homes for the 2 girls, which I did. I both of the litters, some of the babies had white feet and a white patch on the chest. The male I kept was just one that was left that no one wanted. Anyways, both girls went to a home where they have a male mate, and in the next two litters produced, both litters had the white on them. I believe it came from the girls, since they were from the same breeder and related in some way (cousins?).
I don't know of a breeder that sells micro cavies though, sorry

LOL! Yes, the white spotting gene is starting to show it's head, which of course was the same as gerbils.

Here is a pic of Peanut, my Rock Cavie. :)
