This was the reason for me searching for the name of that ink (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?186225-Question-for-someone-older).

Differing Views

A Maxfield Parrish watercolor sunset is splashed across the eastern sky
Delicate, fluids pastel pinks and lavendars
And elegant Art Noveau swaths against the greying sky of dusk
And I know, in my bones
That my camera will not capture it
That only pastel chalks on thick white paper
Deftly applied, skipping and dragging
Across the smooth surface, smudged just so
And soon, it has faded to grey
Vivid now only in my mind's eye

The western sky is ablaze, though
With vivid light, gold and orange
Washes of Allizaron Crimson and
Payne's Grey touch the cloud edges
Layer upon layer of clouds stacked
With light, like frosting, between
Oozing and glowing with an exuberance
A celebration of storms done
That lingers in the humid air as
The east, behind me
Darkens to grey, and
to night

Lovely photo & equally lovely poem, my friend!

Thanks, I was surprised there is detail visible in the buildings below, I expected it all to be in silhouette! And now you know why I needed to know what Payne's Grey was called - as I know you are a visual art person as well, when you mean Payne Grey, Indigo will not suffice!

That's a beautiful sunset and your poem describes it so well. Have you ever published any of your poems? If not, you should!

The photo did come out quite clear, and the sky is wonderful. Not surprised this moved you to write! Very nice poem, to go with the photo.

I took this photo in Tuscon at the end of a long driving day, the colors don't translate well in the pic, but it was a glorious sight. It only lasted a few minutes, After I took the picture, I put my camera away and moments later it was over!!!

Yes, that's the thing with sunsets - they are so fleeting! I knew I couldn't capture the eastern sky fast enough, and the colors were too subtle for my photography skills, too!

No, wouldn't know where to start with publishing any poems - there are lots of scams out there, so haven't had anything published since high school and then college.

Maybe self-publish through Amazon? This can be done.

I really liked your poem and all the sunsets shown by you and others.
