... have rings on its tail? Here's some photos of George.
I've never paid much attention. Do other colored cats have rings on their tail?

Are all orange cats males? I read that most if not all are male.

58384George, you are sooooooo adorable! And my RB orangey fur-nephew Milo did have rings on his tail.

Edited to attach photo of sweet Milo, who I miss very much.

Thanks cassiesmom. Yes, I think he's adorable too. He's becoming such a big boy.

I hope you and others can see the photos enlarged. I am having trouble seeing them big. I don't know if it's my computer or not. When I click on the thumbnail, for some I am just seeing a big white blank.

My Chestnut had rings.

And so did Dazzle - who was a black and white spotted cat with rings on his tail!

I think the rings on the tail is part of the tabby pattern.

Not all orange cats are male, though the vast majority are. My Sparkler is an orange and white girl!

Mac had very distinct rings running the length of his tail. With his racoon tail, lime green eyes, and orangey-orange coat, he was really something to see. I miss him very much.

This thread made me think of Gini's ginger ladies Emma and Annie ... I wonder how they are doing.

I don't believe I've ever seen an orange cat that didn't have rings. I know the 3 that I had, were ring tailed. Most all cats that I've had over the years had rings, with the exception of my RB Meezers.

Princess Leia has one big pale colored ring right in the middle of her tail - she turned out to be a Tortie after starting out looking like a silver Chinchilla with a black face and legs. Luke is a gray and black tabby with a huge furry gray and black squirrel tail, and Harley (their brother litter mate), and who looked like Leia's twin when they were little, is completely shiny black with just a few gray hairs in his tail, but no rings for him. They all have huge and fluffy tails, but top prize goes to Luke. I'm always telling them that they got in the squirrel line by mistake when tails were being handed out. Luke loves to strut and show off that gorgeous appendage of his too - he's so funny to watch. :p:D All 3 of them have fur as silky as an angora bunny. Luke is huge all over - they are just 7 months old and he looks like a very big full grown cat and weighs over 10lbs. Harley is big, but not quite as big as Luke and weighing in at around 9 lbs, and Leia is the little and much more delicate little sister, and is about 7 lbs.

Yeah - I know - pictures needed.....................

Thank you, Kay! I think she's quite beautiful, too ;).

Here's another picture of her:

As you can see, her hind legs are cockeyed. They were crushed when she was a kitten (I heard someone had stepped on her). The wonderful vet managed to put them both back together such that she didn't need to lose either. She's not able to jump up on things, but otherwise she gets around quite well. She climbs up on the bed every night to join me just as I'm going off to sleep.

The reason most orange kitties are male is that a female kitten has to get the orange from both parents, where a male can get it from just one. So only an orange momma can have orange daughters, but they can have other colored kittens depending on the male cat.

Fister had rings on his tail, but most apparent towards the end. He also had rings on his legs. I miss him!

Miquelito , Mickey Fluffy Tail and Michael the Dream Cat Angel all had rings on their Orange Tail , but Roadblock Angel did not.
I will have to look up my Orange Cat Orangey!!!:love::love:

cassiesmom, I just now clicked on the photo on your post. What a beautiful cat! Looks like a big one :)

Also the pics of Gini's ginger ladies shows big cats imo. I think my George is going to be very big, not fat but long, lean, and able to reach up to the kitchen counter--what fun! LOL

Oh My! Your dear sweet girl had a rough time at the beginning. Lucky for her and you, you ended up together. Regardless of her crooked legs, she is still a beautiful cat.

YES, PLEASE. I want to see the big tails of your cats (and the entire cat of course) and any other pics of pets you can show.
