Took some pics from INSIDE, this morning.

This is looking out the front, about 7:30 AM, you can see the sun glistening on the frozen road.

This next group of pics was a surprise to me, had no clue what I had until I downloaded onto my computer. LOVING this new camera!
Chickadees, sparrows and juncos and one red (male) cardinal on the ground. Look up at the feeder: bird flying in for a landing!

And as the first bird lands, ANOTHER is flying in! HOpe he has his landing lights on!

Getting full at the feeder

This pic shows 2 pair of cardinals. The males are easy to spot, being bright red on the white snow. Females are brown, one is perched on a branch far left, the other is slightly to the left of one of the males.

One and only trip outside the fluffs have made so far today. They were fast, it is much too cold!

Chickadees, sparrows, juncos and male cardinal

Female cardinal joins the group, far left. Cardinals are known to be very shy birds, so I am always pleased to have some at my feeders. I have 3 feeders out, only 1 in pics.

Yes, I have had a constant ballet of birds once I refilled the paper plate right outside my sliding glass door - normally they do not want to venture that close, but that's the least snowy, most sheltered spot right now!

From the Snow!!! thread:

The wild birds dance
An ever-changing ballet outside my door
Wheeling and twirling down
Silhouette against the snow as they approach
and never ceasing, rotating in and out,
Silently urgently hoping in and back
The paper plate of birdseed I set out
Their focus, their turning point
Juncos, sparrows, cardinals and
Even the titmouse who prefers to stay up in tree branches
Makes a fleeting, whirling presence
Like a cameo ballet appearance
Before it flees to the relative shelter
Of the hedges on the wall above.

I love the pictures with your new Camera as well. Nothing like seeing such beautiful creatures right out your own window! I LOVE seeing cardinals in the snow. :) Juncos are cute to.

The energy it must take for the birds to survive the winter. Thank you for feeding the birds.

I don't blame the fluffs for not wasting their time out in the cold.

Missy & Baxter jump up on the door & bark when they are ready to come in & it is in a rush. We have to get out of the way when they come piling through the door.
