Greetings all. I haven't been checking in very often lately, but PT is always on my mind and in my heart. I have the POTD as my home page!!!

Today is the 3rd anniversary of Phred's passing (my brother John). I am remembering the many good times we had together and our mutual love for animals. I have been extremely grateful to the PT family that opened their arms to him in life and gave him a place to truly express himself. I believe he found his second passion (fire fighting being his first) in advocating for furry critters and being a part of many rescues. And I can't think about him without remembering his furkids, particularly Smokey. I know many of you have favorite memories and still smile when you think of the threads he and the prayer pups started over the years he was on PT.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely, Nancy (AKA Bibette & Lulu)

Hello, Nancy - it's so good to hear from you.

I can't believe it is three years already. :( Phred was such a solid part of PT; I guess it seems like he is always here, somehow.

I wish he could tell us about the antics he and Smokey are up to, testing the alleged patience of saints! :)

Condolences to you on this day.

Dear Phred, I still miss you. I'm sure you and Smokey greeted Gini recently :D Thinking of you as I so often do.

Miss you,
Elyse

I have a picture of Phred with Cinder and Smokey and one of a Christmas card he sent me with them along with Boots and Bowser. I have it on cd too and was just looking at it today. I bet heaven will be a very merry place what with them meeting up with Gini and all the others from Pet Talk who are there. I'm sure Cinder misses Phred and Smokey a lot even now.

Nice to here from you! It is hard to believe it has been three years, we all do miss him very much! We are still glad Cinder is doing well in her home with Diana, where she is now convinced she is, indeed a lap dog!

I think of Phred almost on a daily basis. Sure miss the guy! Hard to believe it's been three years - on one hand it seems like forever and on another, it seems like just yesterday. :(

Hi Nancy!! welcome back - don't be a stranger! :)
I echo what zippie-kat posted - Hardly a day goes by that I don't miss him or think of him (now Gini and he are drinking coffee watching us from above I'm sure!) Often when Tonya (zippie-kat) and I are talking especially if having an animal issue we say "I MISS PHRED!"

But I was also glad when my Keegan and Kylie went to the Bridge, and Tonya's K'Cee that he was up there to be with them and keep them company along with all the other Pet Talkers and pets now.
And I'm glad he and Smokey are together.

Much love to you Nancy.
Merry Christmas!
Staci

Hi Nancy, I just caught myself (jokingly/fondly) griping at Phred and thought I'd share.

The backstory is that he'd often post photos of his pups but Boots the cat was a rarity. I'd often drop him a line and tell him "we need a Boots fix." His reply was always along the lines of "he runs from the camera" or "he won't look at the camera - turns his head." Now how hard could it be to snap a picture of a cat? (This question coming from a shutterbug with a diva of a cat.)

So fast forward to last year. I lost my beloved diva cat, K'Cee, and adopted two kittens, Gus & Lizzie aka The (not so) Terrible Twosome. Gus is a BIG (15lbs) love of a cat; Lizzie is the can't-sit-still-always-getting-into-things bratty little sister. And guess what Little Miss Lizzie does when she sees a camera? Yep. She heads for the hills or immediately turns her head.

I think this is revenge for all the times I pestered him for Boots pics. :D
(She's even a tux cat like Boots was. ;) Yep, definite revenge. lol)

I too think of Phred often and miss him here. He went out his way to give me advice when Fister was blocked up - Boots had had the same happen shortly before.

When I say Phred was THE pillar of Pet Talk, I think most agree and no one be offended. He was also a huge part of the funny threads and I almost died laughing when he posted to these threads. :D

I choose to believe he's met all the cats and dogs who have departed to the RB, along with my dear John and Fister - and of course our Gini.
