Our family dog when I was in high school, Gracie, was fine with me playing the clarinet, but when my Dad picked it up one day to pretend to play it (having no experience on any woodwind whatsoever), Gracie was very up set. She tried howling, tried mouthing the instrument, tried grabbing it by the bell to pull it away from him ... He finally burst out laughing, and as anyone who has ever played a reed instrument knows, laughing and playing at the same time is impossible!
