Setting up for the annual Terry Fox Run Sunday and a sign advertising it.It was started on September 13th,191by the Fox family in honor of their son Terry Fox who passed away from Cancer in June of 1981 at the age of 22.It has been held every year since in towns across Canada to raise money for Cancer research.Ours started at Memorial Park on Liberty Street South at 9:30 Sunday morning,people could walk ,run or ride a bike,they had 3 distances to chose 1 km (.6miles),5km(3miles) and 10km(6miles). people from our church took part as well.tTerry Fox started a run across Canada in St.John's Newfoundland on April 12,1980,it was called the Marathon of Hope,it was to got to British Columbia,but Terry only got as far as Thunder Bay,Ontario,on September 1st,when he had found out his cancer had spread to his lungs.He passed away on June 28,1981,1 month short of his 23rd birthday.The funeral service was broadcast live,it was a sad thing,I was sad as well,think I cried as well.

What a nice way to remember this young man! I hope the weather was good- it was sloppy and wet here yesterday.

Steve Nash, the NBA star that plays for the Los Angeles Lakers directed a documentary about Terry Fox for ESPN Films.

The film is part of the '30 for 30' sports series that was shown on ESPN - 30 directors were asked to do 30 films on sports figures who's stories they thought were worth telling......
