I know I have been catastrophically slow in properly introducing Ruby and Lulu. They have not quite been with us a year, but it’s not terribly far off it.

We took my Mum to the open day at a local shelter at the end of August last year because she thought she might like another cat. She didn’t get one, but we ended up with two. Ruby and Lulu are sisters and were together in the cage. At the time we saw them, Lulu was being forcibly washed by Ruby – it drew quite a crowd. They were 10 months old and had come from a house where things had got out of control. The owners quickly found themselves with 13 cats and rising. Ruby and Lulu were six months when the shelter took all the cats and Ruby was found to be already pregnant. She had two little kittens, which had since been adopted, and the shelter was looking to home Ruby and Lulu together because they were so bonded. So instead of getting one little friend for Oscar, we got two.

They were 2.6 and 2.7 kilos when we adopted them and they are now just over 3, so they are not very big cats although Lulu looks a lot bigger with all that fluff.

However, I know you want to see some pictures ...

Aww, you got some really good pics of them, they're both gorgeous! Such a sweet expression on their faces, and beautiful coats.

"Funny" to see how different length their coat is, since they are sisters. I take it either mom or dad was a longhaired one. Hope to see them here more frequently, and hear what they're up to. ;)

Hi Ruby and Luly, you sure are pretty girls. I'm so glad they now have a good home and that they were adopted together. Separating them would have been cruel so good for you. Thanks for posting pics and I look forward to more pics of them in the future.

They are gorgeous! Yes, Pinot is a little miffed she hasn't made their acquaintance until now, I don't know if she's speaking to her UK Auntie at the moment.... ;) She'll get over it...

Lovely kitties, so glad they're together and with you! Congratulations!

Ruby and Lulu, there's a story behind this ... did you go to visit Barbara? Or, did she visit you? Either way, it sounds like she got to meet you two in person (or purr-son!) and for that I'm jealous! You two are beautiful ginger kitty ladies! I am sending gentle pets and a kiss *kiss* for both of you and for Oscar, too.

Thank you all for welcoming Ruby & Lulu, and I am terribly sorry that Pinot's nose is out of joint. I hope she forgives me soon. :D

Oscar usually rather likes his little sisters, and they do all mill around together, which is great.

Grace asked if I had a photo of all three cats. Well, this absolutely fascinating box came into the house one day ...

Of course - a box to unite them all! :D They are so gorgeous!

Funny how your two new kitties are orange and not grey - and KAK's new two are NOT orange at all! :D
