Tennessee is proposing a statewide pit bull ban.

If any of you would be willing to write letters to Tennessee senators and/or sign this petition I would greatly appreciate it.

Brennan, Jake, and the many other Pit Bulls that I know do not deserve this at all!

I don't want my state to end up on the list of stupid uneducated people that agreed to something that they really have no idea about. Brennan and Jake are about as dangerous as butterflies to any human they come in contact with, as I'm sure most of you know.

I would appreciate any help on this though. I'm trying to get the word out everywhere and do what I can.

Thanks PT

We will write to them, and I'll email my Tennessee cousins, too!

Massachusetts has a state-wide ban on breed-specific legislation, and of course some ignorant people are trying to overturn it ... grrr.

Thanks Karen! I sent an email to our senators and actually just received a reply back from one of them.

They said they don't support breed regislation and will continue to do so as long as they are in office, so that's reassuring!

I wish we had a ban on BSL, I'd be so thrilled to hear about that. They should just let it be, obviously it's working or Massachusetts wouldn't have implemented it!

I'm not sure hearing from out - of staters will help much. I mean, politics being what it is, hearing from the folks who elect them makes more sense. "Experts in the field" do carry weight, and I'm sure there are lots of them who would be glad to bend an ear and explain why this is a bad idea for legislation.

I'm sorry to hear this was even thought of!

Yeah I thought about that, but oh well. I guess it'll still look good if the petition has signatures from everywhere.

There's going to be a protest in Nashville on the 20th. I know some people that are going, but not sure if I will be able to make it. It's a 4 hour drive from me.

We're doing a protest here and passing out information about the bill, plus showing how wonderful our dogs are to the general public.

I'm going and taking Brennan and probably getting Michael to take Jake.

We'll be with you in spirit! And I am sure there will be pitties willing to hand out "free kisses" to any willing spectators!
