How do I get in touch with dog rescue transport in the states?

I am looking to rescue some dogs from an Ohio pound and bring them to Toronto (it's a 4 to 5 hour drive). Does anyone know how I get in touch with transport rescuers? I know that there are such thing as trucker dog rescuers etc. but I can't find the link especially in that area. Any help and/or positive comments would be great!

Try sending a PM to mugsy here ... she does a lot of transport coordinating.

You can PM me for some assistance. I live in the southern part of OHIO, but know of transporters regularly going through OHIO to Ontario. I will tell you that you will probably need to provide some background information to get some help. Who you are, where you are pulling from, where you are taking the dogs, etc.
