WOW!! What a heartwarming sight to behold. Don't we all wish that all dogs could be cared for and loved, as much as this old boy.

That is one terrific guy. Have any of you ever waded in Lake Superior? It is cold, I mean really cold - even in the summer.

I've been in Lake Michigan in the summer - COLD!!!!! I was wondering how this could be soothing to an arthritic dog. Maybe it just numbs him into a pain free state.

Being in the water reduces the effects of gravity, so his bones and joints are not bearing as much weight!

I know that!!! But the water in those lakes is like ICE!!! Even just wading in the summer months practically numbs the feet.

Nah - try off the coast on Northern Maine this time of year. That water is what my mom called "brisk" - so cold it reminds you it might have been next to a glacier yesterday!

Evidently the lake water is unusually warm this summer because of the higher temps this year. Anyway, the dog
finds it very soothing.

Thanks for expanding on that story, Liz. Boy - if that doesn't turn on one's waterworks, then one must have a heart of stone.
