Last night, a friend and I visited the Illuminated Water Show held in the Mountain Park of Kassel-Wilhelmshoehe (some info on these events can be found here; dates are those of 2011: http://www.museum-kassel.de/en/index_navi.php?parent=9533).

Anyway, since I knew in advance that HDR would be required for these pictures, I decided to take the pics in RAW format, something I'm usually reluctant to do. :o

Here are the results:

An old greenhouse in the same park which is now used as a club, as it seems..

Wow- it's a totally different atmosphere to many of your other pics but it so gets us into the mood.
I love that picture with the 2 persons- it is very special.
We still hope we can make it to documenta- we have been there all the times since 1980....

Yes, I haven't done something like this too many times before, I'm not even sure if I like that style... Probably not as it looks so unnatural and kind of "polished", but I just wanted to try this. :)

As for the Documenta, I haven't seen much of it either; just some of the outdoor venues. Check http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?173770-Some-random-pictures-%28nature-animals-art%29&p=2427546#post2427546 if you like, post #2; there are some of the pictures I took there in the Karlsaue park. :)

When you're in Kassel for the Documenta, let me know; maybe we can meet for a coffee... :)

WOW! What a spectacle! And what wonderful photographs.. as always from you, Kirsten.

I really like the picture with the two people too. Captures another side of the entire event.

Well done, and thank you, Kirsten!

Awesome - as all of you photography is.

I really like these - maybe it's because I love bright colors. Even tho it might look unnatural or polished as you say, it is very unique and beautiful.

You live in such a beautiful location, and all of your pictures of landscapes and countryside and towns are so different than anything we see here in the states. Thanks for sharing so much of your little corner of the world. It is truly beautiful!

Really cool pictures! thanks for sharing them with us all, sounds like it was a fun experience! I have always loved that falling water blur effect, just never been patient enough to achieve it myself!

Thanks a lot for taking the time to look at my pictures! :)

Karen, the blur effect of the water is due to a long exposure time, so you'd need a tripod for that.

pomtzu, I guess sometimes I'm just not aware of the fact that all these places here that look so familiar to me can be interesting for those in other parts of the world! :)
