I saved this and made it my background on my computer. I try to live by this. Everytime I lose a pet, I give an older, more seasoned stray and forever home. If only more people would do this, it would help.

That's my plan from now on. I wanted to get an older kitty when I was ready after Taz died. But I thought (silly me:P) that a kitten would be better for Paizly. But here it is two years later (oh my, that's today!!!) and she still hisses, growls, spits and barks at him.

Taz Zoe,

Yeah, (feral) Jackson, although he's come around and snuggles with me on his terms, still hisses at me. I call them love hisses. Lucy, on the otherhand, is coming around slowly but surely. She actually let me pet her from head to the tip of her tail ONCE so far. Of course, there was food involved.

When old man Bartie goes to the Bridge (hopefully not for a LOOOOONG time), I'll rescue another oldie. They seem to be the ones that are always passed over.:(

Thank You so much for those words of wisdom and compassion.
I too have tried to make life as good as possible for My Porch Cats , and while they will never take the place of My Angels completely, I know that My Angels will love these New Found Hotel Cats and appreciate that they are a lot happier now.:love::love:
