Oops I Did It Again!!! Pics Added On Post #27

Well you can just call me a crazy cat lady because I did it again. This is what I did. (scroll down to find out)











































I adopted another cat today. He's a 10 month old buff tabby formerly known as Cricket but I changed his name to Colby. I kept looking at his picture on petfinder and then when he wasn't on there any more I just figured that he had been adopted. I couldn't remember his name so I asked his foster mom if she had an orange male tabby with a "C" name that had been recently adopted. All she could think of was an orange & white one named Cheetoh. She later e-mailed me asking me if I meant Cricket who is a buff male tabby and let's just say that after she described his personality to me, I was hooked. His brother,a Russian Blue DSH, had been adopted and she was trying to get the man to also adopt Cricket because they were very bonded. He tried having both of them for 1 week but he just couldn't handle having 2 cats and he also said that Cricket hid all of the time.

His foster mom wasn't doing a pet fair today so she wanted to bring Cricket over to my place to meet me. She was very busy today so she didn't come over until a little after 7pm. I have my second bedroom set up for him so we put him in there. He came out of his carrier and was purring very loudly and he was very friendly. She was amazed at how out going he was and how comfortable he seemed to be. After she left, he did begin hiding under the bed. I should've had my camera with me while she was still here but I did manage to take a few pictures of him later. The main reason that I wanted to adopt him was to get Alani & Blaze a new playmate. I'm hoping that then A & B will stop chasing poor Ziggy all of the time and stressing her out. Pearl gets chased sometimes but not to the extent that poor Ziggy does. I also got him for me and he already reminds me of my RB Sunny. He's a lot smaller though and is only about 9lbs so he's Pearls size right now. Sorry for the rambling. Now on with a few pictures of Colby.

Thanks. Well it's just like living with toddlers that never grow up and yes it can be a real circus at times. There's never a dull moment around here unless they're all asleep at the same time.:)

Thanks to everyone else who commented about my handsome boy Colby.:) He's a real sweet heart and a love bug and he's constantly purring.:) He also loves to have his belly rubbed. I let him out just briefly when only Alani & Blaze were out in the main area. There wasn't any hissing or growling but both Alani & Blaze tried to puff up to look larger. They did sniff noses without any problems but they also ran away from Colby. They're both acting like scaredy cats. I guess this is better than acting mean and aggressive towards him. I'm sure that Sky will also accept him without any problems. Now Storm, Pearl, & Ziggy will all do their share of growling and hissing towards him but hopefully in time they'll all learn to accept him.

This is what I'm hoping for too.;)

Thanks again everyone. I let Colby out again tonight and things seemed to go a lot smoother this time. Alani, Blaze, and Sky are all still out in the main area with him. Colby is much more comfortable now and he's really settling in quickly. He climbed all the way to the top of my largest cat tree and I think he's still napping up there. I was able to take a few more pictures of him. In person his stripes are very muted but they sure do come out in pictures. He has very beautiful markings. Here are some more pictures of him. For any one else who's interested in the same cat tree that I bought, I did find the website for it. I also tried to search for it on e-bay but it looks like they no longer carry it. I bought the cat tree and the corner unit on e-bay auctions. I don't even know if they still have these or not. I think I bought these in Jan. 2003 because I know that my RB Pepper was still alive at the time but he passed away shortly after.:( They're still in pretty good shape so they are of good quality. The prices sure have gone up because I know I didn't pay this much for them. My main cat tree is called "BigFoot Cat Tree" and the other is just called "Corner Unit". Colby continues to do well and I today I let him hang out with Alani and Blaze all day. Both of my redheads seemed extra tired tonight so I sure hope that this means that there was some play going on while I was at work.:) Both Pearl and Ziggy hiss at him but they both seem very interested in him too. He's about the same size as my petite Pearl so I also hope that she'll eventually allow him to play with her. Storm has hissed at him but really doesn't seem too interested in him. He's making a great addition to my cat family.:)
