They were just talking about that on the local morning news. They said there is mixed reaction in Canada. It will be interesting to see how it works out. Please keep us posted, Candace.

Well, what happens to,

In for a penny, in for a pound?

A penny for your thoughts?

A penny saved, is a penny earned?

Penny candy?

Henny Penny?

Penny Marshall?

Not to mention Henny Penny....:D

For credit card, debit and other non-cash transactions, the 'penny' amount will still be used.

Our pennies are minted in the USA and cost way more to produce than what they are all worth.

The last set will be minted in the fall - I'll be picking up a collector one at the Post Office for sure! That's where all the specialty mint coins are!

I don't think I've ever used a penny for a purchase in my whole life anyway. Won't make much difference to me.

Won't effect you. Alysser - it's just Canada getting rid of their pennies! The US will still have pennies!
